Meet the Author

Sir Walter Scott, 1st Baronet (15 August 1771 – 21 September 1832) was a Scottish historical novelist, playwright, and poet, popular throughout much of the world during his time.

Scott was the first English-language author to have a truly international career in his lifetime, with many contemporary readers in Europe, Australia, and North America. His novels and poetry are still read, and many of his works remain classics of both English-language literature and of Scottish literature. Famous titles include Ivanhoe, Rob Roy, The Lady of the Lake, Waverley, The Heart of Midlothian and The Bride of Lammermoor.

    Highly Recommended

This is my first e-book, so I don't have a lot of comparisons - but I love this book! It seems to have all of the content it says it does, without anything missing or garbled. However, I have only read Waverly and Guy Mannering (2 of the many novels included in this book) so far, and I cannot comment on the rest of the work. I bought this book because I have always loved Ivanhoe, but never read anything else by Sir Walter Scott. I have found that his other novels are also wonderful reads, and I have even started reading his poetry, which I also recommend. Sir Walter Scott was a great writer, and he deserves to be rediscovered. I don't think you will regret buying this book.
