I bought this because I though it would give more information about certain events in history. But when I say its really just a timeline, I'm not kidding. It has to be probably the most un-descriptive timeline I have ever seen. For example it says 787 Danish Vikings Raid England.... well then why did they raid England? Or what was the outcome of this raid? I don't highly recommend buying this unless you really just wants a timeline.

This chart is an amazing compilation of the events of world history of the last 40,000 years, all in a handy folding chart that is the size of six sheets of regular paper. It is very useful in putting historical events into perspective compared to one another, showing what events happened simultaneously and what event came before or after another. It is so packed full of dates and information that it can't possibly be consumed in a single sitting. Rather, it is best used as a reference tool for a student. We keep it in the car and my son browses through it with great interest. I would like to see more of these charts, such as for American history, African history and more.

If you want a summary of everything that happened in the world. This is the way to go. It separates between politica and military, science and technology, and humanities and culture events. It gave me a pretty good understanding of when different empires began. I love it
