Italian-born Bertoia (d.1978) studied at Cranbrook Academy in Michigan and went on to set up a studio for sculpture and furniture in Pennsylvania. This heavily illustrated volume—with photos of his parents, youth, family, and color plates of his works of art—describes Bertoia's life and career in detail, with separate chapters on the different media in which he worked—these include jewelry, chairs, sculpture, and fountains.
