Overview

The Praying Church Study Series is based on courses taught in the first semester at International House of Prayer University and is designed to impart the biblical understanding necessary for sustaining corporate and personal prayer. Our enduring hope is that this series will equip and inspire individuals and communities of believers to grow in the knowledge and love of God and to make worship and prayer the foundation of all other activity, so that together we would be the praying church to the glory of Jesus.

ALL OF HISTORY IS LEADING SOMEWHERE. Creation is groaning, sin is increasing, and believers are lifting their eyes and voices to God in the crescendo of the ages: the return of Jesus to the earth and the redemption of the world. The Bible unveils God’s glorious plan to redeem and restore His creation to its original condition. It is essential for believers to understand this plan in order to have the confidence and clarity to fully engage in God’s purposes today.

In this study manual, Wes Hall shows us that though our world lies in great darkness, God’s plan is to fully complete His work of justice and redemption when Jesus returns to the earth. With our hearts anchored in this central hope, we can persevere in prayer, be steadfast in love, and boldly proclaim His coming in the midst of the most adverse circumstances. With each lesson, Wes unfolds God’s grand story, designed to fascinate us with His wisdom and beauty, as He works through history to make every wrong thing right. This study manual is the starting point for making sense of our past, our present, our future, and God’s will for our lives.
