Overview

A cure to worldly vertigo

The first generation of Christians turned the world upside down. But the church today is being turned upside down by the world. Why? And why aren't we-with all our social medias and high-tech gadgets-more effectively producing Christ-centered, Gospel-liberated, biblically-instructed, world-tilting believers?

In The World-Tilting Gospel, popular blogger Dan Phillips lays out four reasons why the first believers had more impact on their culture than today's church has on contemporary society. Using a whole-Bible approach to the Gospel, Phillips shows who we really are, what kind of world we are really living in, who God really is, and what difference the Gospel really makes in our everyday lives. Drawing from decades of studying the Bible's Hebrew and Greek texts, Dan Phillips offers a conversational and engaging challenge to embrace a biblical worldview-and hang on tight.

"Pick this book up, flip to any page, and start reading. You won't want to put it down." --Robert L. Plummer, author of 40 Questions About Interpreting the Bible

"This book is a great tonic for the postmodern tendencies that poison so many young minds today."--Phil Johnson, Executive Director of Grace to You Ministries and cofounder of the Pyromaniacs blog

"Dan Phillips is both easy and edifying to read. The World-Tilting Gospel is a sound introduction to what it means to be followers of Jesus Christ. I recommend it widely." --Ligon Duncan, President of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals

    Thought Provoking Book

    My thoughts-

I was very intrigued when I had a chance to review this book. The phrase, "embracing a Biblical worldview & hanging on tight," from the cover of the book had so much potential. Dan Phillips was able to deliver on showing us how to accept and accomplish the challenge of that phrase.

Part One had a lot of humor (mixed in with seriousness of the Fall) to make it a quick easy read. Once I started Part Two he really became serious, which showed me how important it is to him for us to properly approach the world and view Christ and the Bible as Christians.

I thought the summaries of each section were very important and relevant because the information was condensed and showed what was most important to him.

I thought this was an excellent, thought provoking book and I would recommend it to everyone who wants a different way of viewing life that just might make them a "world-tilting believer."

Disclosure of Material Connection- I received The World-Tilting Gospel by Dan Phillips for free from the Kregel Publications' Blog Tour. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255.

    Energize With The Truth

Dan Phillips in his new book "The World-Tilting Gospel" published by Kregel Publications gives us insight on Embracing a Biblical Worldview and Hanging on Tight.

The first generation of Christians were not popular. They were ridiculed, persecuted, yet according to Acts 17:6-7, they "turned the world upside down." When was the last time you felt the Church was turning the world upside down? Don't you feel it is possible the Church is being turned upside down instead? Bad teaching and errors in Theology have crept in and have watered down the Message. Dan Phillips has written "The World-Tilting Gospel" to show us the errors and how we can fix them to tilt the world again.

"The World-Tilting Gospel" is structured around four sections: 1) Who Are We? Getting At The truth Of Our Identities, 2) What Has God Done For Us? The Eternal Plan Conceived, Predicted, Executed, 3) How Do We Get In? A Tale Of Two Towering Truths, 4) How Do We Get Going? Preparing To Launch.

"The World-Tilting Gospel" helps us turn our attention back to The bible and the truths that God teaches us there. Once we have the truth in us then we can be refreshed, restored, renewed and we can go out and turn the world upside down for Jesus. "The World-Tilting Gospel" will keep you thinking. I recommend this book highly
