Overview

Destroy thy Neighbor! A gate to another dimension has burst open, and invincible monsters called Neighbors invade Earth. Osamu Mikumo may not be the best among the elite warriors who co-opt other-dimensional technology to fight back, but along with his Neighbor friend Yuma, he’ll do whatever it takes to defend life on Earth as we know it.

Upstanding Osamu always does the right thing, whether it means pitching in to save Earth after school or turning the other cheek to bullies. But when he meets a feisty humanoid Neighbor named Yuma, everything that he thinks is right is turned on its head. Can the two natural enemies ever become friends?

Gr 7 Up—A gate to another world has opened in Mikado City from which invaders from another dimension attacked, causing a defense group called Border to fight back. Osamu Mikumo, a Mikado City high schooler, is a member of the Border defense, but hides this secret identity from others. New transfer student Yuma Kuga is has even bigger secrets of his own. The two boys form an unlikely friendship that has far-reaching implications for the future. This is an exciting manga with a lot of physical and psychological action, including battles against gigantic monsters, tension between members of Border, and the constant threat of secrets being exposed. Civilians' minds are erased whenever they learn sensitive information, so every time they realize that Mikumo is a hero they are guaranteed to forget it soon afterward, which adds to the pathos that readers will feel for the hero. Ashihara's artwork is very dynamic, particularly in action sequences when the movement affects the size and shape of the panels. During these scenes, panels jut out and overlap at crazy angles, heightening the narrative's pace. A thought-provoking start to a series that manga fans will snatch up quickly.—Andrea Lipinski, New York Public Library

This Story is really good, not really anything new but it adds it's own elements into it. This is about a world that is attacked by another world that have alien like creatures called "Neighbors" and that later on a Group called "Border" protects people with things called triggers which are weapons from the other world, but the main character is a teenager named Osamu Mikumo that is a student in Japan but as well someone who works for Border. During this he meets a boy named Yuma Kuga, that is a neighbor. They work together to do all these different task and as well stop bad Neighbors from coming into there world. of course there are other things that happen in here but you should just buy the Manga.
