Jazz fans might pass over this excellent CD by John Bunch because of the ridiculous statement beneath the label logo identifying it as "easy listening, lite jazz"; this is hardly something that should be confused with the bland offerings of various smooth jazz artists. Bunch's tribute to World War II songs is very appropriate, since he served aboard a bomber during the conflict, and was shot down and captured. More than a nostalgia trip, Bunch brings life to each of these melodies with his thoughtful arrangements.
