Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
Gr 8-10–Written in a relatively journalistic style, Belanger’s texts show that he has obviously done his research. Chapters include photographs of each haunt, interviews with locals familiar with the cases, and background information on the events that triggered the ghost stories. Sources are cited. Readers looking to be spooked, however, will be disappointed. Both books are very text heavy and dotted only sparingly with small black-and-white photographs. Stories of spirit sightings are matter-of-fact and don’t inspire chills or thrills. Though both books would be great sources for school reports, kids reading for pleasure would probably prefer Hans Holzer’s Ghosts I’ve Met (2005) or The Ghost Hunter’s Strangest Cases (2006, both Barnes & Noble).–Kelly McGorray, Glenbard South High School, Glen Ellyn, IL\

    Interesting Ghost Stories

If you are interested in the paranormal and have the money to travel the world in search of it, this is your guide. With this book to serve as your research your visits to these places should be well worth the time and trouble. Even if you never get to see the places mentioned here, the stories will stir your imagination and make you wish you had seen what was written about. It is an excellent bit of work.

An exciting, memorable collection of haunted places!

THE WORLD'S MOST HAUNTED PLACES by Jeff Belanger is one of the finest collections to come along in a long while! Crisp, accurate writing adds to the indepth stories found in this amazing book. Jeff Belanger is the founder and publisher of the internationally-known and respected Ghostvillage.com. As to life after death, you be the judge in this collection which relates how President Lincoln has been walking the halls of the White House in Washington, D. C. for more than a century, among other stories. Photographs accompany the stories. First rate writing makes this a rare and pleasant entry into the lore of haunted houses and ghost stories. Buy a copy for yourself and a friend. Request your local Public Library to order a copy for its reading patrons. Belanger is a first class writer and he has created a first class book with THE WORLD'S MOST HAUNTED PLACES.
