Editorial Reviews

KIRKUS REVIEWS
this will catch the eye and likely draw a few yuks from susceptible young readers
School Library Journal
Gr 5–8—Readers will be amused by this latest addition to the series. Filled with tips on how to survive the bizarre—an alien abduction, vampires, and zombies, and how to pack for time travel—this humor-filled selection actually gives some practical facts to go along with the weird. Kids learn how to handle a UFO sighting, how to evict a ghost, and what to do just in case they stumble onto a cursed tomb. The tongue-in-cheek illustrations are the icing on this enjoyable book.—Esther Keller, I.S. 278, Marine Park, NY
Kirkus Reviews
A bit of literary gossamer if ever there was one, the latest of the Worst-Case Scenario Handbooks offers perfunctory advice for readers unfortunate enough to be kidnapped by aliens, attacked by mummies, ghosts, vampires or zombies ("Don't get cornered"), transported to ancient Rome or prehistoric times and like predicaments. Occasional tiny particles of actual folklore float amid the chaff and-except when they're wrong (no, rats don't carry plague, fleas do)-at least add traces of substance. The level of humor is relentlessly fourth grade, from "Werewolf! There wolf" to "If your friend's bunk bed has a lid, avoid a sleepover at all costs!" Endowed with a lavender color scheme for the page borders and small cartoons that clash nicely with the chartreuse cover, this will catch the eye and likely draw a few yuks from susceptible young readers before drifting from view. (Semi-informational recreation. 8-10)

    Can it survive bad reviews?

The book honestly didn't have enough information for what I paid. It was a bit of a dissapointment, really.

    Woah!

This book is a good selection for anyone who loves watching horror movies at night and then staying up till six in the morning because you were creeped out. But don't worry, because the book isn't scary its self. It just shows how to deal with paranormal activity ( not that it will ever happen ).But watch out men! Faries and elves appear here to. If you can get past that and on to dragons and time travel, then your okay. The book was very interesting. I must agree with a previous reveiw, EPICNESS!
