IT'S TIME TO FINISH WHAT HE STARTED...

A young girl is snatched from her rural Iowa school in broad daylight. The child is later found murdered, her body hanging from a tree.

When retired San Francisco Police Inspector Bob Farrell reads a newspaper account of the horrific crime, he realizes his worst nightmare has come true. The same remorseless predator a government agency stopped him from putting away twenty years before is once more on the loose.

Farrell enlists the aid of rookie Iowa deputy Kevin Kearns, who is tortured by his inability to prevent the kidnapping. As the murderer wreaks a trail of blood and destruction across North America, the duo sets out to track down their lethal prey.

But Farrell and Kearns aren't playing by the rules any more than the killer is, and soon the F.B.I. has them all in its sights...

Editorial Reviews

Author of Far From Home series - Tony Healey
"Wounded Prey is a non-stop thrill ride of a book. Unrelenting, brutal, scary, and at times skin-crawling in its depiction of atrocious crimes. And yet it is also funny, warming and believable."

"With its smooth prose, plausibly flawed characters and brilliant central villain, WOUNDED PREY is a welcome addition to the crime landscape. Its a read-in-one-sitting kind of book, and promises great things for Lynch down the line."

Mallory Heart
"It's not too uncommon to find a good novel, but it is more rare to come upon a novel as absorbing as this one, where reading it causes the external environment to drop away and time to pass without noting it. Wounded Prey is a very disturbing, graphic, violent, terrifying novel; but it is a novel that deserves a wide readership. I look for more from author Sean Lynch, as he has become a must-read author for me."

"With WOUNDED PREY, Sean Lynch delivers a hell for leather, wild ride of a debut with the "been there done that" authenticity that lifts it above other thrillers. I just added Farrell and Kearns to my short-list of favourite characters, and Vernon Slocum to my worst nightmares!"

Just finished this book. Good character development. The story grabs hold of you and keeps you intrigued throughout. You can't wait for the killer to be caught as he is so evil.. We definitey need more from Sean Lynch - he is a talented story telller Charlie Mannix (authr of Anniversary Waltz).

Absolutely loved this book!! Just couldn't put it down, gritty, graphic, grown-up "who done it" even tho you know the killer right off the bat, it's the pursuit that keeps the pages turning-----well-developed characters that grab you and draw you right into the story!! As you can no doubt tell, I really enjoyed this book!

Wow! I suppose I should be angry at Mr. Lynch for all of the lost sleep as I got sucked deeper and deeper into this book, far into the night. Or, more properly, my boss should. Heh! ;D Simply put, this is one hell of a book - a thriller that's done exactly right, from the likeable good guys and nightmarish bad guys to the jaw-dropping conclusion. Mr. Lynch is a top notch writer who makes you really feel for his characters; he breathes personality and humor into them so that you're really draw into the story - next thing you know, you're all caught up and can't put this down. And what a story it is! For those who rate it one-star as a forum to complain about its gruesomeness, c'mon - it's called "Wounded Prey". Stories with titles like this are either a thriller with a few gross spots (this one), or a Woody Allen yuppie whine-fest (in which case it's all gonna be gross). Just to clarify: No whiners here; just an excellent writer who has gained an avid fan here - and I'm a pretty hard sell. Can't wait for the next book.... well done, Sean Lynch! Five well-deserved stars for you.

Great read, thrilling and tense from beginning to end. This is what a great mystery read is all about. Nothing left to the imagination. Just in your face, gut wrenching reading from page one. Read this in record time. Just couldn't put it down. If your thinking about it, just do it.... and read it. You won't be disapointed.

Pretty awesome book. A page turner indeed. The narration was great. The story was told through each significant character's eyes giving the reader the ability to see every angle of the story. Very graphic, very detailed, really disgusting. Genius!

Awesome book! I had dreams about it , it was graphic. I loved how the author switched each chapter to what each character was getting themselves into. Recommend for the people who can handle gore and disturbing content

This is very heavy reading. Not for the faint of heart. However, I found it to be very exciting. The story begins in rural Iowa, and covers much of state. Since we live here, that made it more interesting. The writer is from here, so he knows the area well. Fasten your seat belt and hang on for this one.

I enjoyed this and would like to see more of these characters. Perhaps a little too graphic, but the actiono is brisk and the plot engrossing.

So amazing!!! Loved every minute of it. I didn't want to sleep, eat, or go to work because that would mean I would have to close my book. I haven't read a mystery/thriller in a while that got my attention like this one. I beg the author for more books!!

Very detailed book....the author knows his stuff, seemingly from personal experience. Was a gruesome and intense read, but well worth it.

This was an enjoyable book. It kept my interest from the first page to the end. It has a little of everything - mystery, suspense, really, really bad guy. A little too much violence.

This was a good read. Intense and interesting.

This is a book that is very hard to put down, with something happening on every page, with great characters, and a villain as bad as any you have ever heard of. But, if very graphic descriptions of violence and mayhem bother you, it isn't for you. The violence is essential to the story, so it isn't gratuitous. But, it is vivid.

I could not put this book down! The riveting, harrowing story will keep u on the edge of ur seat....the character developments made this story even more spellbinding. You cannot help but wonder where this chase is going to take you next in spite of the gruesomness of the crimes Vernon Slocum commits. Just wait...hang on and buckle up for the ride of your life.

I bought this without high expectations and I could not put it down. It will keep you reading page after page. I thought Sean Lynch did a really good job developing the characters. As soon as I finished this book, I bought The Fourth Motive (same characters) and enjoyed that one too. I am a huge fan of John Sanford and Sean Lynch is now on my short list of authors whose books I will look forward to and then buy without hesitation.

This is not the type of book I usually read. I don't even know what made me buy it. I thought it was excellent and couldn't put it down.
