All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
If American Idols are ready for anything, it's that industry standard, the Christmas album. It is to Kelly Clarkson's credit that she waited a decade to deliver a seasonal platter, but 2013's Wrapped in Red is worth the wait; a testament to her confidence as an interpreter. Generally, the 14 songs here emphasize Clarkson's skills as a full-throated diva -- the arrangements are bold and brassy, as is her delivery -- but when the tempo slows and the arrangements scale back, she's perhaps even more alluring, turning "Blue Christmas" into a sweet fireside crawl and effortlessly overshadowing the overmatched Ronnie Dunn on "Baby It's Cold Outside." Clarkson's selections favor the bold -- there aren't many carols here, these are primarily secular holiday tunes, and she doesn't resist Vegas glitz, giving "My Favorite Things" a bit of a gaudy makeover -- but she fares well in this setting, always sounding like the strongest element in the mix. Perhaps the concept and execution are conventional, but even in this utterly expected setting, Clarkson retains her fiery, individual spirit, and that's what makes Wrapped in Red appealing: to the letter, it delivers what it promises.

Although her new tracks don't sound very much like Christmas son

Although her new tracks don't sound very much like Christmas songs, they're snappy and peppy and I like them.  I wasn't terribly impressed with some of the classics that she covered and don't really care for Silent Night being made to sound like a country song.  All in all, it's just OK for me. I did like 8 of the 14 tracks enough to put them on my iPod.

I loved it, I loved her remakes of the songs, Favorite Things, Run, run Rudolph, & Bells will be ringing(my favorite blues song for Christmas, especially this year.=))
Her version of Slient Night will bring a tear or two to your eyes. I loved her new songs, 4 Carats and Wrapped in Red, I happy for her she found love and someone who loves her for her. Her Blue Christmas is a beautiful version of the Elvis Presley Hit. Any pop fan, even adult pop fans from the TRL era will love this album. True not all the songs are "christmasy" enough but it is made for parties, dances, and people who love pop and R&B music like they listened to in their youth. Enjoy my recommendations below.

Kelly Clarkson shines on this album, from her dominant duet with Ronny Dunn on "Baby It's Cold Outside" to the haunting version of "Silent Night" with country superstars Reba and Trisha Yearwood. These plus some awesome new songs make this the holiday CD of the season.
