    Informative and Fun

Wilson clearly loves his Hemingway, his book is very well researched and covers examples from Hemingway's short stories as well as major novels. However, he doesn't hold Hemingway up on a pedestal- he recognizes that writers of today can try to harness some of Hemingway's good qualities, but in the end they must be inventive and surpass what's come before. (Definitely read the forward and the end note).
Not only does Wilson explore different aspects of Hemingway's style, he gives a variety of writing exercises for you to practice with and plenty of interesting biographical facts about Hemingway.
Though not suited for every writer, it is a great place to begin for those still trying to find their voice and develop a style of their own.
It makes you want to dig up a volume of Hemingway stories and lose yourself for an afternoon.
