Meet the Author

Cynthea Liu left a career as a technology consultant to become a full-fledged children's book writer, proving that anyone, no matter how inexperienced, can write for children if one has the drive and the patience to learn. She obtained a literary agent within her first year as a writer and sold two novels soon after at auction to the Penguin Group. Her third book sold to Penguin on proposal. Cynthea currently lives in Chicago with her husband, her baby girl, and her rabbit Snoop.

    A reviewer

    The biggest AH HA for me was when the author mentioned the main character in a story needs to solve his/her own problem, not the adult. In my rough draft the mommy was solving the problem!! Not anymore, my main character flew off the page at me when I empowered HER to solve her own problem. Amazing. Thanks for this book.

    Save your money

    I give this book one star because no stars isn't an option. I once saw a Monty Python where they lampooned "How-To." guides. In it a guy (John Cleese) told you how to play a flute. It went something like this:

    You blow in here and move your fingers up and down here. Now you know how to play a flute.

    This book is the equivalent to that. If you've ever thought about writing, you already know everything in this book. But even if you're just starting out, the book is too general to be of any use.
