While Alex Sokoloff's Screenwriting Tricks For Authors and Writing Love are amazing for identifying the structural elements of a story (and identifying holes in the plot before I write my way into a corner), I found the exercises on theme and premise wonderful for strengthening these aspects of my stories. The new material in Writing Love, specific to the key elements of love stories (great for the relationship subplot of my stories), was terrific! I highly recommend the workbook - and take one of Alex's classes if you have the opportunity. She's a fabulous teacher in person as well as on the page. Cathy P
I was fortunate to hear Ms. Sokoloff give a workshop on her tips. I was so impressed I immediately purchased this book. I have read several books on writing, but none have made plotting so interesting and easy as this book and her techniques.
