Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
Gr 5-8-Beginning with a few words about the writing process and general information, this practical book continues with chapters covering various types of reports, essays, and more. The "Basic Guide" is a wonderful 45-page section that describes all the elements students need to be successful at writing a report, including examples of note cards, citing sources, outlines, and a completed assignment. Each type of entry includes sections on getting ideas, getting organized and taking notes, writing a draft, a revision checklist, an outline, and an example of a completed paper (in green type). "Research Tip" sidebars contain interesting and helpful information about where to find good resources. All the sample reports and essays were written by the author. This book can give students the confidence and ideas necessary to write nearly any type of report and/or essay that a teacher might require. A solid and useful resource.-Linda Wadleigh, Oconee County Middle School, Watkinsville, GA Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
