Adding to the author's other texts in this series (APA Style for Psychology, APA Style for Social Work), Szuchman quickly and succinctly provides all the basics of APA style in this handy workbook-type reference guide written specifically for counseling students. Her years of experience teaching writing-intensive courses give her an inside track on the trouble spots students encounter in writing papers and dealing with APA style.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"â€'well organized text that has good practice work to help students develop experiential knowledge of what goes into professional reporting of empirical work."

"â€'refreshingly practical and easy to use workbook which will help students write about and understand research better than they do now."

"Yes, I do feel that a text on writing with APA Style is needed for counseling and other related fields. As previously mentioned, students experience difficulty in developing technical and scholarly writing skills. As faculty, we require students to learn APA style format. Referring to the Publication Manual doesn't always help students to understand APA style. This proposed text could easily be incorporated into any of our existing courses as a supplemental text, and students could refer to the proposed text to aid in the development of their writing skills."

"â€'an excellent learning companion and reference to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (4th edition). The strengths of the text are the organization, which allow students to easily refers to the rules and the chapter exercises that reinforce learning of APA style format."

"Students would welcome a concise guide that demystifies the scholarly writing process."
