Written on Her Heartby Alan Maki
Molly Meyers has lived the last thirty years of her life in the shadow of the memory and words of the man she fell in love with years ago. But the Vietnam War took James Wade from her before they could be married. A lifelong friend comes to visit her, living alone in Montana where she teaches elementary school, for her forty-ninth birthday. While there, Stephanie discovers a drawer of love poems written to Molly from James. Later, Stephanie and Molly discover the same poems in a newly published book of poetry by Jonathan Roseland. Could Roseland be James Wade? Could James Wade still be alive?

This novel of love, devotion and redemption really touched my heart. I loved the poetry that was sent from Vietnam by the long, lost lover. And the out-of-control wildfire was a great backdrop for a great love story. This is the 2nd novel by Alan Maki, and the first, A CHOICE TO CHERISH, is also moving and unforgettable. I highly recommend this author!
