Wuzzy Takes Offby Helen Lester, Miko Imai, Robin Lester
Wuzzy, a woodsy bear, lives and plays all day with his friends in the forest—but he longs for adventure. One day he decides to go to the moon in a hollow log space capsule. As Wuzzy discovers Fuzzyheads, moon rocks, moon trees, and moon rivers, children will easily recognize this somehow very familiar place! Inspired by the classic plush bear created by Gund, this is a story children will cherish as much as they do their very own Wuzzy bears.

From the opening line of this captivating story, the Lester's really keep their readers guessing! I found this book nearly impossible to put down and (after several late nights) ended up finishing it in just over four days. I honestly became freightned for Wuzzy on several occasions in the book- would the fuzzyheads really allow him to be a part of their group, or would they drag him off and bury him under six feet of sawdust out back near the creek? Well, I'm not gonna ruin it for you--suffice it to say that Wuzzy manages to win over every race of child that the Gund corporation could fit into Miko Imai's wonderful illustrations! I mean- 'come on---You all are Miko Imai like this book too much!!! This book is a real winner!
