For the most part, Vin Diesel's secret-agent saga XXX finds the bouncer-turned-actor surrounded by highly combustible objects. That's also a fair description of the film's soundtrack, a two-disc set of explosive hard rock and hip-hop tunes. The two genres, however, are segregated, with Disc 1 being ruled by noise-mongers such as Hatebreed, who gnash through the aptly named "I Will Be Heard," and Queens of the Stone Age, whose "Millionaire" shoots out hot sparks like a race car careening down a highway. The disc is rounded out by a passel of more rhythm-intensive tunes, including Orbital's "Technologique Park" and "Landing," a trippy number from the ever-inventive Moby. On the hip-hop disc, the producers dip deep into the Cash Money roster, rolling out the Big Tymers' gauntlet-throwdown "Still Fly" and Lil' Wayne's bouncy "Look at Me." Other rap highlights include Mack 10's typically tough-talking "Connected for Life" and Nelly's infectious "Stick Out Ya Wrist." Alternative soulstress Joi closes Disc 2 on a sultry note with the sensuous "Lick," also included on her provocative Star Kitty's Revenge. For added value, the limited edition of XXX comes with a bonus tattoo and a movie cash coupon. Now, that's what we call triple-threat entertainment. Dave Sprague
All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
He's a new kind of secret agent. He throws out the martinis, but keeps the promiscuity. He's sly, not suave. He doesn't cotton to conventions -- he creates his own rules. Where James Bond had John Barry, XXX -- better known as Vin Diesel -- has a bunch of alt-metal and hardcore hip-hop providing the soundtrack for the extreme sports that are XXX's trademark. Drowning Pool's "Bodies" sounds better than ever in its "Vrenna XXX Mix," Gavin Rossdale's first solo track, "Adrenaline," is Bush with a hip makeover, and Queens of the Stone Age show why they're considered one of the greatest hard rock acts of the time by delivering melodic counterpoints to the verse and chorus of their contribution, "Millionaire."

One star beacuse I can't rate zero

I think that the first record is fine, but my disagreement is produced by the stupid idea of making a double cd soundtrack. Who the hell thought that everyone who likes rock likes hip hop too? I hate hip hop!! I don't want to buy hip hop!! I think it's not very smart to combine those styles in the same album.

    Not many like this one

The combination of Rock and Hip-hop is great. It's along the lines of the soundtrack to The Fast and the Furious. Disc one: Rock; Disc two: Hip-hop - that's a good way to make a soundtrack. This defintately earns five stars from me. If you were a fan of the music for The Fast and the Furious, then you won't want to miss out on xXx.
