Meet the Author

Classically trained in France, Jacques Torres was pastry chef at Le Cirque for 11 years and now serves as dean of pastry studies at the French Culinary Institute in New York. In 2000, Torres opened his own chocolate factory in Brooklyn, and in 2004 he opened Jacques Torres Chocolate Haven in lower Manhattan. He is the author of Dessert Circus and Dessert Circus at Home. Torres lives in New York City.

 

Steve Pool is a New York–based photographer and writer with a special interest in documenting food in its natural setting.

    The master chocolatier and pastry chef Jacques Torres made it possible for a novice like me to create outstanding desserts. That's where the genius comes in. Making it so simple that anyone can do it.

    This book is so well written and easy to follow. I actually had every ingredient in this book in my pantry. Every recipe was a great success. I also bought his chocolate on line at mrchocolate.com to insure perfection and I achieved it. Great book. The illustrations and stories are also lovely. I think it is a great coffee table book. I am definitely giving it to my friends who love chocolate and to those who love to bake.

    If you like chocolate and you like to bake, you'll love this book!

    I used to watch Jacques Torres' TV show and have always enjoyed his receipes. I have made several of the receipes in this book and we loved them! I would give this book as a gift.
