Overview

Jin Duyen, who often writes articles for prominent magazines, is assigned to do a story on the origins of Christmas' many traditions. After some research, she traces them back to Selah, a remote town in the Midwest. Jin travels there in hopes of finding something interesting for her article, and finds so much more.

Amy Carson, a private investigator from a nearby town, decides to look into several cases of missing children which have gone unsolved. The authorities have ceased their own searches, so with little else to do during the holiday season, she heads to Selah as well.

Oddly, the residents of Selah aren't caught up in the festivities that the rest of the world is taking part in. Jin and Amy soon discover that Christmas holds a much darker meaning here... one that pitches them into the same terror that had held Selah captive for years.

    MY REVIEW

SOMETHING IS AMISS IN SELAH. JEN, A REPORTER IS SENT THERE FOR THE STORY OF THE YEAR. SHE SOON MEETS TROUBLE AND IS RESCUED BY AMY , A PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR WHO IS SEARCHING FOR A MISSING PERSON. BOTH WOMEN EMBARK ON A JOURNEY TO UNCOVER THE MYSTERY SURROUNDING SELAH. CHRISTMAS IS NOT CELEBRATED ~~ IN FACT, IT IS FORBIDDEN TO EVEN SPEAK OF IT. THE TWO ARE PUZZLED AS THEY SLOWLY UNVEIL THE SECRETS OF A TOWN AND THE EVIL THAT CONSUMES IT.

THERE ARE MANY TWISTS AND TURNS AS THE JOURNEY PROGRESSES. WHAT THEY DON'T REALIZE IS THE DANGER AND THE EVIL THEY WILL UNLEASH. HAVE THEY GONE TOO FAR? AND WILL THEIR INVESTIGATION LEAD TO THEIR OWN DEATHS OR THE DEATHS OF THE ONES THEY LOVE DEARLY?

DEEPER STILL IS THE JOURNEY TO DISCOVERY SURROUNDING JEN AND HER FAMILY. HIDDEN ISSUES BOIL TO THE SURFACE AND JEN MUST FACE PAINFUL TRUTHS CONCERNING HER MOM AND YOUNGER SISTER. WILL SHE MAKE AMENDS BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE? WILL THEY MAKE IT OUT ALIVE?

IF YOU THIRST FOR SUSPENSE AND THE DARK SIDE OF EVIL, I THINK YOU WOULD ENJOY "YEARLY HARVEST" I KNOW I DID...

    Loved It

Read it within 24 hours. It grabbed my attention from the beginning and held it until the end. I could picture the creepy, mysterious town of Selah perfectly, and came to really feel for the characters. It was REALLY a good book.
