    I have been collecting Cinderella stories for a unit I do with 3rd and 4th graders and this one is great!

    A Wishing Fantasy?

    The book I read is Yeh-Shen, a Chinese version of Cinderella, by Ai-Ling Louie. Yeh-Shen is a girl who has a beautiful charm with a stepmother who is jealous because she doesn't have a beautiful daughter. The best part is when Yeh-Shen married the king. The worst part is when the stepmother and her daughter got crushed to death. A beautiful picture in this story is Yeh-Shen in an azure oufit. She also had golden slippers and lost one. Yeh-Shen got the outfit by magic fishbones. This outfit was for a feast where she could pick a husband. I won't tell you the rest, it's too good. Please read it, love it, and remember it!
