Yellowrocket

Overview

Todd Boss' first collection of poems, set in rural Wisconsin, features a benighted childhood farm, the storm whose "dark musings" destroyed it, and the turbulence of daily life in its many guises. These are poems to rouse and overturn our expectations. Whether they're dealing with a rural youth, the tensions of marriage, or the loneliness of disappointment, a zest for life hums beneath the surface.

Editorial Reviews

Christian Science Monitor
“Boss’s writing aches with subtle music, insight, and clear-sighted compassion. . . . If you only buy one book of poetry this year, make it Yellowrocket.”
Dorianne Laux. author of Facts About the Moon
“Like Frost, Todd Boss uses the hardships and beauty of farm life to examine the rough fabric of human connection.”

    Really like this collection

Todd Boss is a fantastic writer capable of transmitting reams of meaning in just a few short words. Have been a fan of his work after seeing it in poetry journals this past year. Yellowrocket is well wrought, fresh, very capable of socking you in the gut and adept at crystallizing life's moments in ways that only good poetry can. I can't wait to see more from this writer.
