Book 1 Yellowstone Romance Series

Nurse and avid backpacker Aimee Donovan is offered the opportunity of a lifetime. She encounters a patient who tells her he can send her two hundred years into the past to spend three months in the rugged Yellowstone wilderness at the dawn of the mountain man era. The only requirement: she cannot tell anyone that she’s from the future.

How did a white woman suddenly appear in the remote Rocky Mountain wilderness? Trapper Daniel Osborne’s first instinct is to protect this mysterious and unconventional woman from the harsh realities of his mountains. While he fights his growing attraction to her, he is left frustrated by her lies and secrecy.

Daniel shows Aimee a side of Yellowstone she’s never experienced. She is torn between her feelings for him, and exposing a secret that will destroy everything he holds as truth. As her three months come to an end, she is faced with a dilemma: return to her own time, or stay with the man who opened her eyes to a whole new world. When the decision is made for her, both their lives will be changed forever.

Meet the Author

I never thought I'd be a writer, much less publish a book. I always wanted to be a veterinarian. I guess life just had other plans for me. When my husband and I decided to start a family, vet school pretty much went out the window. I used to work with a vet who had three children while going through vet school. To this day, she is my hero.

Two years ago, I began writing a story that, for whatever reason, was stuck in my head for almost a year. I have been an avid romance reader for a long time, and the idea took hold to - why not? - write my own!
It has been a long and difficult journey from my first sentence to a completed, and hopefully polished, manuscript. Book 1, Yellowstone Heart Song, was a finalist in the 2011 RWA San Diego Chapter Spring into Romance Contest.

The story, titled Yellowstone Heart Song, is set in the Rocky Mountain region which today encompasses Yellowstone National Park. It takes place decades before the area was even known to white men, a time just after Lewis and Clark, before the mountain man era was in full swing.

The story has turned into, what I'm calling the Yellowstone Romance Series. I have finished book 2, titled Yellowstone Redemption, which will release soon after Book 1. The third, titled Yellowstone Awakening, is in its final stages of completion, and I have begun my newest title, Yellowstone Dawn.

    Worth the trip

This is the kind of book I have looked for but can rarely find. The story and characters stayed with me long after I closed the final page.

Aimee's love and curiosity for the Yellowstone area generate additional attention to a weary, hospital patient. Not only does the man provide this nurse entertaining stories, he offers her the opportunity to experience her favorite vacation spot as it was originally designed. He will send her into the past. He has no fear for her safety. His son is there. He gives her directions to his homestead and strict orders to not tell his son "when" she is from. Thinking the offer is part of the old man's charm, Aimee plays along, only to discover she is in the middle of the Yellowstone forest that is unlike any brochure she has ever seen. Bison still roam wild and Indians are not on reservations. So why is a handsome, white man perfectly at ease living among both of these natives?

Daniel can't leave a city woman to fend for herself, especially when he finds her on a cliff ledge with numerous injuries. His Indian, half brother doesn't help things when he continues to remind Daniel that by taking the woman to his home, he is agreeing to marry her.

Three months is a long time to wait to return to a world of modern conveniences. Three months alone with Daniel is worth the wait. When Aimee is forced into a decision she isn't willing to make, Daniel learns the reason for her secrets. He must now decide if he is willing to accept her deception or risk a life without her.

Yellowstone Heart Song is a book that hooked my attention from the first sentence and kept me riveted until the final word. Ms Henderson's skill at bringing to life a world so remote left this "roughing it means, no room service" girl anxious to don hiking boots and set out for the wilds. She paints the setting with wide brushstrokes while bringing attention to fine details. Aimee and Daniel are perfectly paired, making them relatable and immediately likable.

I am so thrilled this is the first book in a series. I can't wait for the next installment from this author.

Loved, Loved, Loved this book! Over 600 pgs on Nook

I love time travel but usually choose midievel time. This one sparked my interest and I'm so glad I purchaed it. It's a slow-moving romance building to the point where you can't put the book down just to see if they end up together. This book was a great escape and I'll look into others by this author. This was a love story about a woman of today traveling back to the 1800's to meet the mountain man of her dreams. Well worth your time!

    Highly recommend

I have never read a time travel novel before, always thought they were a little too weird for me, but I'll tell you, this is one of the best romance books I have ever read! Aimee is a very strong women the kind I like to read about but with a loving heart. Daniel is the perfect man for her, strong & protective. I fell in love with both of them & could not put this book down. Very seldom do I cry over any book but this one had me sobbing like a baby. I highly recommend this book. If you've never read a time travel before this is a great one! I will be buying more of her books. JudyE

Entertaining read. I enjoyed this enough to purchase the whole series. The description of Yellowstone park was great, a place I've always wanted to see. The though of time travel is fascinating.
Living without our many conveniences would be a trial. Good description of that. I enjoyed this series very much.

    Want a good nature romance?

I was not expecting to like this book, though it was recommended to me by someone I trust. I love the imagery and naturistic approach to this novel. I recommend it to those who love nature and passion.

Loved this book from start to finish! I didn't know if I would like a time travel book, but I actually loved it. The way the book ended was great and it didn't leave me wanting more or wishing I could rewrite the ending. I just purchases book 2 and can't wait to start reading! I use to live near Yellowstone, so it was fun to picture exactly where the story was taking place.

Henderson is the best author that I have ever come across..she gives a history lesson along with a beautifully written book, that you makes you feel that you are with Aimee and Daniel..Also makes you wish you could back in time. I Highly Recommend all of her books, you will never be disappointed...

Didn't want to put it down.

I enjoyed the 200 year differences in Yellowstone. Loved the characters and story line. The ending (as most I read) is a 'givin' but loved each page anyway. I recommend this one.

Be careful i,of what you ask for

Good book. Storyline was consistent with a few bumps in editing. Aimee and Dan such likeable characters. Zach was frustrating but did things out of love with unhappy results.
Time travel on a limited scale with a happy ending.

I have now read this book thrice and listened to the audio once - it remains as enjoyable as the first time around. It compelled me to look for Peggy's FB author account as well as purchase the rest of the series.

The pace of the story is just right and it is beautifully written. I have never been to Yellowstone but Peggy has made it come alive for me. I liked this book so much that I purchased the entire series, novellas included.
