Yield (verb): to surrender or submit (oneself) to another

Macy Carrington is broken. The strong, beautiful woman that I've unwittingly fallen in love with is all kinds of broken from a secret that she has carried for far too long.

A secret so dark, she has gone to great lengths to protect it.

A secret that I'm terrified will one day rip her away from me.

The only time Macy frees herself from the darkness is when she is naked and in my arms. When I am deep inside her body, there is nothing she fears. When she wraps herself around me, she is at peace.

If she would only yield to me completely, I know I can set her free.

Meet the Author

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released more than 30 books and has been featured on both the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists on multiple occasions.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Mary's strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active toddler, as well as full-time servant to two adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or a combination of the two.

REVIEW: A fantastic conclusion to this 3 part series! We finally get to see the real Macy, and the secret that motivated her to leave her family behind. She sees herself as 'dirty' and not good enough for Cal. It was a difficult story to hear and extremely painful. Macy has not had an easy life by any means and despite what she thinks she's actually an extremely strong character. Cal has to work hard to show Macy what an incredible person she is and that she deserves to be happy - with him. We also get to see an interesting conclusion to the legal storyline going on too. In particular we get to see Cal, Alpha Lawyer Extraudennar, strut his stuff which was highly sexy! Overall this was an excellent end to this sexy legal romance! CONTENT: Sexuality: very strong / several sex scenes, bondage etc. Violence: mild Language: medium / some f words Drugs & alcohol: mild

4.5 stars--YIELD (Cal and Macy) is the third and final installment in Sawyer Bennett’s A Legal Affairs Story serial- focusing on Macy Carrington and Cal Carson. Because YIELD is part of a serial storyline, it cannot be read as a stand alone. Told from Cal’s first person point of view with additional information revealed through Macy’s journal and diaries, YIELD follows the investigation and subsequent charges against Quarter Mine –the Carrington family owned billion dollar business- and Macy’s connections to the people involved. When Macy refuses to speak to the investigators, Cal begins to dig a little deeper and uncovers the demons that still haunt Macy today. YIELD is a heartbreaking and emotional storyline as Macy must confront the past. Cal is a protective, alpha male who is willing to risk everything to protect Macy; Macy is a woman who past controls the world in which she lives. The relationship between Cal and Macy continues to be sexually energetic, provocative and experimental. Macy uses sex as a means to control her demons and in this Cal becomes the target of her aggression. Macy likes a little kink with her sexual activities. YIELD is the culmination of three installments that sees our hero protecting the woman with whom he has fallen in love; and a heroine who steps out of her protective bubble to see the truth is finally revealed. Sawyer Bennett writes an intense story of romance, retribution, heartbreak and love. The characters are engaging, controversial, charismatic and inspiring. The love scenes are sexually graphic, passionate and emotional. Cal and Macy will capture your heart; Sawyer Bennett will capture your imagination.

After reading the last page of Cal and Macy conclusion I had this bittersweet feeling come over me. Cal and Macy’s story has become a quick favorite of mine. So much is revealed, but its done in a way that make you want more.  While Ms. Bennett has yet done it again with her talented words and well written story full of angst, tribulation, and seduction. The relationship between Cal and Macy continues to grow, as the layers start to shed. Pressure is felted on both sides as secrets have potential to be revealed. At times Cal made me crazy with his obsessive need to protect Macy from her demons, while his heart was in the right place the way he went about doing things was all wrong. I honestly felt that Macy handled herself very well, despite all of mess going on in her life. One thing for sure I know that I dislike her family very, very much. Yield brings us right where Grind left us with Macy facing some legal issues stemming from her past. We’re finally given answers to the infamous vacation that's in question.I stilled felt like Cal and Macy deserved a longer series, but I’m also pleased how things ended. The Epilogue was definitely the cherry on top. I so cannot wait to experience even more of Ms. Bennett's work.

Trust and LOVE... Book 3 was the ending to Macy and Cal's story. It was well written and a great ending to their story. Over the course of these books you really got into their heads, this for me was a good thing as I really liked who they both became. This series was not just about their love affair, but their friendship with their best friends, Mac and Matt and you got to see a little more and understand just how important they all are to each other. Macy finally figured out what she wanted in life and in order to have what she has always wanted, she had to be able to take some of herself back that she had let go over the years. Stand up for herself to the people who should have protected her and loved her without question. She had to love herself so in the end she could really be loved by others and accept that love. An enjoyable steamy read!

This is the continuation and completion of Cal and Macy's story.  Cal certainly steps it up this time, not in the bedroom but in his effort to prove to Macy how much he loves her and wants to keep her safe. Every time I think of what her family put her through, it just breaks my heart a little more.  I think Cal is the perfect man for Macy with his gentle, protective, and strong embrace. This is a fantastic series! Thank you Sawyer Bennett for your amazing imagination and writing skills. *free copy gifted for honest review **originally reviewed for welovekink(dot)com

This is the third and final book for Cal and Macy. When you read the first two, you wonder how much pain will they have to go through and will they finally be together? Well I can only say that this ending is perfect. Macy has to learn how to love herself before she can love anyone else. And with the help of Mac, Matt and Cal she will learn that if someone loves you, then you never give up on yourself. I don't want to give the story away and will say that you should read the whole Legal Affairs series. It will be an emotional roller coaster ride but you will love every minute of it. Sawyer Bennett will have you crying one minute and then laughing the next, she will rip your heart to pieces and put it back together. If you haven't read anything by Sawyer, then you should grab this series NOW and enjoy. You will not be disappointed. I loved this series and wish there would be more someday. **Copy provided by the author in exchange for my honest review**

In this third and final book of Cal and Macy's story, we are taken on an emotional ride of lust, mystery, hurt, revelation and rediscovery. Macy endured something that no woman should ever have to, especially not at the hands of her parents. While she thinks she has dealt with the fallout, it's clear to Cal that she's living in dreamland because she still has so much baggage from that time in her life and she needs to find a way to let it go. In order to help the woman he loves so much, Cal begins to try to help fight the battle that will hopefully give Macy a path to a much happier future...one not only with him, but free from the burdens she has carried for so much of her life. Sawyer Bennett did a fantastic job giving us a story that was not only suspenseful at times, but also incredibly full of heart. Oh and did I mention the heat between Cal and Macy?! Yeah, that was off the charts good! I'd highly recommend this entire series. It is important to read all three parts in order as it is a serial.

I’m rather stingy with my top ratings. The book has to be memorable and the story has to be unique in some way. With the proliferation and popularity of erotica, there are a lot of books out there – unfortunately, many of the narratives are familiar. Therefore, it is interesting to me, that the reason I love Yield is because it is an old-fashioned love story underneath the erotica.  Because this is a short serial, each book brings us one step closer to understanding Macy’s ambivalence. I love how this story unravels. Sawyer Bennett keeps us on the edge of our seats, and at the same time, makes us fall further in love with Cal. I love Cal. He is a seriously good guy. His selflessness is so attractive. It’s one of the best qualities in a book boyfriend. He’s also very tenacious. He refuses to allow Macy to push him away and instead, makes himself indispensable in her life. I wonder if Cal was a Boy Scout as a kid. As a grown man, Cal has a healthy libido. Cal and Macy both do. This is a balanced couple in the bedroom. Macy is sexually uninhibited:  “I love that she is makes her move when she wants and isn’t afraid to voice her needs. . . . I’m in an almost constant state of arousal around her, yet she assuages my needs in overabundance, keeping me well satisfied and happy.” But despite Macy’s confidence in many other areas of her life, she also carries a certain level of sadness and insecurity that holds her back from fully giving herself to Cal. Her past has damaged her to the point where she is currently surviving, not living. But it is Cal that gives her hope, gives her a lifeline, gives her the courage to take a chance:  “…[Y]our life isn’t about just merely enduring anymore. It’s changed. You’ve changed. You’ve left survival far behind, and our life now is about thriving.” Despite some Macy’s dark past, this story is about stepping out to take a chance. IN A NUTSHELL: With genuine emotion and seamless writing, Sawyer Bennett brings a old fashioned love story with a modern edge of erotica.

So after the super colossal cliffy in Grind, Yield picks up right where we left off. Things had been going well for Cal and Macy, but this recent development has Macy pulling back. Can Cal convince her that he will stay by her side, no matter what is going down? In this third and final installment of Cal and Macy's story, things get pretty intense. While these two continue to burn up the sheets, there is so much more going on. Will Macy finally tell Cal her secrets? Will she seek justice for those that have wronged her? Will she revert to her old ways? WHAT WILL SHE DO? Gah! I feel like I was constantly holding my breath, waiting to see what would happen next. And you know that secret that has been eluded too but we haven't been made privy to yet? I knew it would be painful but I didn't think it would gut me so. And infuriate me. I thought I had it figured out, but the added twist had me wanting to commit murder. Of course through it all, Cal was amazing. He was so patient with Macy when she needed it and I just love him. I flippin loved this series so hard and this was the perfect ending for Cal and Macy. Now who's next?

This is the 3rd and final book for Cal and Macy's story. And like before, picks up right where Grind ended. I love the chemistry between Cal and Macy. But Macy still has her secrets and she believes she is damaged beyond repair, and of course, this is something Cal totally disagrees with. And when everything hits the fan with her father's company, Cal is more than willing to slay her dragons. The whole set really needs to be read in order, but definitely worth it. This was a fantastic trilogy!
