Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
Author Shakta Kaur Khalsa has been practicing yoga for nearly 30 years and teaching the art for the past quarter century. Her instruction, presented in classic graphic DK style, adheres to the Keep It Simple maxim of the series. The guide touches on physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of this time-honored practice.
From The Critics
For the browser who wants to know a bit about everything, or the path seeker who needs a starting point, this compendium offers a smorgasbord of information on the various types of yoga and approaches to its practice. Designers on a field day have skillfully integrated photos, drawings, cartoons, and boxed features that highlight tips, lists, trivia, and definitions. Material is arranged in sections on the basic ideas of yoga, the various styles, the art of meditation, yoga-related food and health tips, and yoga as it relates to stress, business, medicine, marriage, children, therapy, and other aspects of life. For more in-depth treatment, appendices provide plenty of resources—books, websites, and organizations. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
