The Nook Book is not the same as the Paperback Version, it's a complete rip off!! It does clearly state Book ll, but it is very misleading, there should be a disclaimer somewhere in the ad.

This is the yogi's manual for all yoga poses. Iyengar focusses on alignbment and form, something that many yoga teachers are unable to focus on due to the many students that they have in a class.

My mom got me this book as a gift and it's great. It includes more than just the asanas. There are sections devoted to the history/philosophy of yoga, breathing exercises, remedial programs, etc. This book guides the reader along step by step with photos for every asana and key points for each as well. I;m very happy with this book.

This is an essential guide to the widely-practiced method established by B.K.S. Iyengar, who is "the world's foremost exponent of Yoga," as the introduction says. The Mehta family demonstrates the poses in minimalistic photos that emphasize the clean lines of a pose done correctly. The book is divided into three parts: The Body (asanas); The Mind (a discussion of yoga philosophy and pranayama, which trains the breath and focuses the mind); and The Soul (a few pages on meditation and surrender). The asanas are further categorized by standing, sitting, balance, and so on; they are rated for beginners through advanced. Those who are just beginning a yoga practice will be able to follow the instructions easily; those who have established a practice will want to refer back to this to go deeper into the poses. Both modifications for beginners and suggestions for improving the pose are also pictured and described. The Iyengar Way really focuses on proper alignment, which is necessary for optimal benefit as well as preventing injury. Now in his 80's and still practicing, Mr. Iyengar has spent a lifetime devoted to yoga and passing his knowledge onto others. The authors of this indispenable book have dedicated it to him, their guru.
