About the Author

Los Angeles-based Ken Paves has been called “the big Kahuna of Hollywood hair” by Oprah Winfrey. For the past 17 years his work has appeared in Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Allure, Glamour, O magazine, Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan, Seventeen, GQ, In Style, and many other publications internationally. In the fashion and entertainment world, he has created award-winning styles for Victoria Beckham, Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, Eva Longoria, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, and Fergie, to name a few. Dubbed by the media as the “hottest hairdresser in Hollywood,” Ken has been a regular guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show as well as contributing and writing for Oprah.com. He has also done makeovers for America's Next Top Model and The Biggest Loser. Transforming our physical selves is intoxicating, and a driving force behind popular makeover shows like The Biggest Loser and our fascination with celebrity style. So it comes as no surprise that award-winning Hollywood hairstylist Paves?nearly as famous as his clients (including actress Eva Longoria, who contributes the book’s foreword) and behind many of those Loser makeovers himself?enters the beauty-book fray. What does surprise is his approach.
