Instilling confidence in young children is important and Snow has conveyed that message in this board book. There are many ways to be creative and some are not always apparent. Doing something like touching your toe to your nose or rolling on the grass is as creative as singing, painting, or dancing. For those who limit creativity to tangible outcomes such as a drawing or building something with blocks, this little book may be reassuring. Kids who undertake quiet tasks or who can extend their imaginations in play are also creative. The pictures show a variety of kids of different ethnic backgrounds, and the artist has even included a young girl in a wheelchair. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
