Something about his pint-size patient seemed uncannily familiar to pediatrician Blake Remmington. And something in Serena Dovesong's hauntingly dark eyes proved more conclusively than a blood test that six-year-old Nate was the result of their unforgettable night of loving. Well, Blake refused to let his paternity be denied. Little Nate belonged to him. But would Serena stand in the way of their becoming the family they were destined to be?

This is basically the story of a women who seduces the man she loves one night knowing he doesn't love her and gets pregnant. She never informs him of the paternity but due to a medical emergency 7 yrs. later the good Dr. Blake figures it out. Desperate to be a part of his son's life Blake agrees to her emotional blackmail of: her on her terms or nothing. After all she doesn't need him financially and her brothers provide the male support for their son so the absence of the father is no big deal! This was a very difficult read and I did not enjoy the romance. I did not like Serena, but I did enjoy the son Nate, even if his being that precocious was a stretch. Blake deserved a better story! This was the fourth book in the series I have read and the 1st that I can't recommend.
