Young readers will love this book, and not just for its many pictures. If they are not already soccer players, I feel they will want to be playing this exciting game by the time they are through reading the book. If they are not already Tisha Venturini's fans (and there are many of them out there), I feel they will become her devoted fans once they get to know her through the book. It exudes energy and optimism. One learns about the game and playing soccer at the different levels, but the book is not just a presentation of dry facts. It reveals clearly the love of the game, love for one's team-mates, love of family, cooperation, comaraderie, the desire to do one's best, win or lose. Tisha Venturini is a worthy role model. I reccomend her book whole-heartedly.
