Highly Recommended for any adult who wants to learn to draw.

Finally! Mark Kistler has done a book for his adult readers! I thought this book was great! One of the things I especially like about this book is that he says you can learn to draw in 30 days or even less, but you have the option of how long you want to take to learn to draw with this book. The lessons are clear and easy to understand, and the bonus challenges are great jumping off points for your own ideas. When you use this book, you have one added bonus, Mark shows you how other sutdents applied these lessons to drawing from the real world. That will give you more ideas of what you can try on your own. Great book! I hope he does another one for adults after this one that will also include the figure and how to use color in your drawings.

    Best "Learn to.." book yet!

I've never had formal education in drawing. I like doodling which eventually turns into something. I really liked this book because it teaches without all the technical writing. The authors puts drawing basics into layman's terms and makes the book very easy to follow. I was amazed at some of the things I was able to create!

    This Book Delivers!

I highly recommend this book. Border's Rewards made it cheaper than any art lesson anywhere, and there are 30 lessons in this book. This book is the adult version of Kistler's draw series. It builds confidence with simple shapes and easy to understand instructions. Examples from talented and not so talented beginners encourage you to press on. Most of the exercises can be done in half an hour or less - I did two or three on some days. The no pressure approach is great! Because he teaches the basics of shading and texture, you will show your friends and family drawings that look great and leap off the page!I am almost done (on lesson 27) with this book and feel ready to take on a more advanced beginner's drawing book - Keys to Drawing is my next step.If you think you can't draw, this book will help. One last note: There was an exercise on the author's website that was unavailable, but the book instructs you to do it. I emailed the author and he unlocked the exercise the next day!
