Machine quilting ¿ this book is all about long-arm quilting but

Machine quilting – this book is all about long-arm quilting but for those of us that don’t have that luxury, I feel you can still get a few pointers out of it for a home-sized quilting machine.

First I learned a lot of names for designs such as piano keys and beadboard or egg and dart. Who knew these designs were called that?

For those who are longarmers, there are lots of good points on getting the most out of your machine such as a larger base plate. There are six pages of ideas.

When you get to the actual designs, there are plenty of graphics to help you understand the words. I am a visual learner and these helped me understand how to create feathers. If you “get” the feather, you will be ok with the rest as there are a lot variations of that. Of course, straight lines and slightly curved lines make up designs too.

Echo quilting is discussed and teardrops which morph into flowers. There is so much in this book, it will keep you reading for a long time.
