This volume of YCDTOSA is worth it just for WHAT'S NEW IN BALTIMORE, which contains by far the most seering, soaring, Zappa guitar lead I have ever heard (and I bought my first Zappa album at age 13 in 1982! Definately Zappa at his finest hour...and considering I don't think he ever had an hour that WASN'T fine...well, really, you must stop what you're doing now and purchase this fine collection of music.
I miss Frank. I miss his sardonic, spot-on humor and genius. I miss seeing him in interviews kicking everyone's butt's with his insightful insight's and impeccable intelligence.
One thing's for sure: he worked his tail off making sure that these live tunes would be released to his fans, because, as he stated in an interview, his fans are great and he constantly put his money back into new projects for himself and his fans. He offered us YCDTOSA to enjoy, so, please, you owe it to yourself AND Frank to hear these tunes. And if the lead on What's New in Baltimore doesn't blow your socks off, the only reasonable explanation would be that you aren't wearing any.
