I've read this play many times and have been lucky enough to see it performed live. It is my favorite play (and I have read enough to judge) because it has such a 'hit you in the head with a 'don't be stupid' stick' message but manages to convey its message in such a hilarious way! Alice's family is hysterical but they also make the Kirby's (and the reader) realize what is really important in life: love and happiness, not slaving away at a 9 to 5 for the stake of making a lot of money that you will inevitably leave behind anyway! Read the play and enjoy!

this play was writen during the geat depression to cheer poeple. although the humor is somewhat outdated it is still a good book. it would be funnier if you saw it preformed rather than just reading it.Was this review helpful?
