If someone has changed your life
for the good, now is the time to celebrate by letting them know how much they
Oftentimes true heroes of faith don’t stand out in the world, but they
have made a lasting difference in someone’s life—they’re a hero to someone.
This gift book celebrates their story by first providing a dedication beginning
with “You changed my life by___” to be written in detail by the giver to the
recipient. To follow are stories told by Max about others who have answered the
call of their convictions and took steps of faith (both big and small)
resulting in lasting change in the lives around them. It’s a message that
honors the person who receives the book, and inspires us all to see that
real people with remarkable hearts can change lives.

I have to be honest, the only reason I chose this book was for its author. Max Lucado. He is a phenomenal writer and I have always enjoyed reading and learning from his books. This one was no exception. This book- simply put- is another of many wonderfully well written books by an author who has such a profound way of making us think beyond ourselves.
One of the most riveting stories, for me, was of a Franciscan priest imprisoned in a death camp in February of 1941. This story not only touched my heart, it spoke to my soul. This man of Christ loved with such ferocity that he was willing to give up his own life to save that of a complete stranger's. How much more awe inspiring can it get than such a Christ-like love? Each story is just as good as this one; the more I read, the more I wanted to continue reading.
If there is anyone in your life who has touched you in such a way; who has made a difference even in the smallest way, this book is a great gift to them. If there is someone you know who may be going through a particularly hard time right now, this book would be a great gift for them as well. It not only expresses heartfelt gratitude, but a love that extends from each and every page. Each story touches the heart and says "You are remarkable" in its own way and leaves you with a feeling of incredible peace and hope. Each page is beautifully illustrated; and each story includes scripture or quotes.

Her laughter rang through Lightnings ears. His fur brustles and his teeth bared. "Who. Are. You." He repeats angrily. "Oh. Simple really. I'm an outcast, an exile, a traitor." Her sneering mew rings through the quiet air. "Cast out by froststar. For doing something that should have left her on my dept!" She hisses loudly then quickly quiets herself. "What did you do?" Lightning hisses, curious, but on guard. "What i might have to do to you!" She hisses. Lightning steps back. "Froststar is hated by many." The she cat reagains her calm. "Many will seduce you into trying to harm her. Trying to kill her." She says. "Her brother was one of these cats. I was merely protecting froststar...." Lightning hisses once the meaning comes to him. "You killed him!" The she cat nods. "Would you not do the same? She was kind to me......I had to help her." Lightning nods in understanding. "I'll watch out. You should go...." The she turns then looks back. "One more thing, the patrol to the gorge." Lightning tips his head questioningly. "The one froststar is going on?" The she nods. "Don't go. See clearriver she will give you a task. I will make sure of it." Lightning nods. "Ok. You should go now!" He says at the sound of paw steps. The she cat left with a smile. "You don't know how dangerous of a game you're playing rouge." She says softly and pads out. <p> This is the short chapter of the book. Btw i'm gonna make a commercial at the erin hunter books. I think it will be cool. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

This book was absolutely amazing. It contains inspirational stories about people who have done things to changes the lives of those around them. Lucado does a great job of making these stories come to life and touch the heart of the reader. These are people who have put others before themselves and made a great impact as a result.
One of the best things about this book is that it is a “gift book.” In the front of the book, Lucado explains that the person receiving the book has done something to change someone’s life. It is a wonderful gift to give to a person as a thanks or just to let them know what a great impact they have had on your life.

I recently had the opportunity to read the book You Changed My Life by Max Lucado. This gift book is a collection of short stories about people whose selfless acts have made an extraordinary difference in the life of others. The book contains beautiful photographs with inspirational sayings sprinkled throughout. Each short story is followed by relevant scripture quotes. This book is appropriate for teens to adults.
You Changed My Life is a moving collection of stories that will lift you up, inspire you and remind you of God's love. I found myself moved to tears and reaching for tissue as I read about every act of kindness, generosity and love that was given with nothing expected in return; given with a true servant's heart. The message in this little book is a big one; no matter how small, when we act selflessly towards others, our actions count and make a difference whether we realize it or not. The inspirational sayings and scriptures throughout the book gave me reason to pause during my busy day and reflect on their meaning and to remember those whose actions have changed my life for the better.
Max Lucado's You Changed My Life would be a wonderful gift to say "thank you" to anyone who has made a difference in your life or for those in need of a little inspiration.

Full of short stories of real people who have made a difference in the life of others, this book was so touching. Designed as a gift book, there's a place for you to write how a person has changed your life in the front. We all have those people in our lives who have made life a little bit easier. These stories reminded me of the little things that have been done for me and helped me remember that it is sometimes the littlest of things that we do that make a real difference in the life of others. This would not only be a great gift but would also be a great book to use as conversation starters for devotions or small group gatherings.

One of my favorite authors is Max Lucado and he wrote the book You Changed My Life. This is a book about normal people who have been a hero in someones life. The purpose of this book is to be given to somebody as a gift that has impacted your life. It has real life examples and stories of people that have been touched by their neighbors, friends, teachers in ways that will make them never forget. It has quotes throughout the book, as well as pictures that make this an easy read. This book isn't a book you rush through, it is more like reading Proverbs or Chicken Soup for the Soul, you only read a few stories at a time. The stories were very touching and at times I cried. I would recommend buying this book for a gift for someone who has touched your life. I found the book very uplifting and inspirational and I was glad I was given a copy to review by Booksneeze. It made a great birthday gift! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Our lives are often too busy today to take the time to truly recognize and appreciate those people in our lives that have made an impact. You Changed My Life by Max Lucado is the perfect gift book for telling someone how their actions have made a difference to you and sharing many inspiring stories of how others have done the same over time. This quick read makes a great resource for telling stories to your children, to use as ice breakers in a training program or as metaphors in speeches or presentations. The stories will pull at your heart strings and make you want to stand up and make a difference of your own.
While some of the stories overlap with the ones told in Outlive Your Life by Max Lucado, many of them are new. Their length ranges from 1-4 pages which keeps them short and very easy to read when you need a pick-me-up or an interesting story. The stories are organized around eight key areas:
I would highly recommend You Changed My Life as a gift - the challenge is finding someone who is deserving and will appreciate the gesture! The very first page of the book provides a space for you to write your own story however, describing how the recipient impacted your life. If you are not in the market for a gift, this book is also a useful resource for speakers, teachers, pastors, or anyone who is in constant need of inspiring stories to share. You Changed My Life is heartfelt, warm, and very motivating.

Max Lucado's, "You Changed my Life: Stories of Real People with Remarkable Hearts," is one of those reads that is bound to challenge, inspire, and change your life. It is a short read with small but hugely powerful stories. Designed to give as a gift to someone who has changed your life, it even comes with space for you to write your own story of appreciation to the receiver of the book. There are many stories of unknown heroes who had courage to do both small and big things that impacted someone's life for the better. Some of these actions took great courage, while others may be easily overlooked. They are separated into different categories from compassion to friendship. These stories are accompanied by pictures that inspire my love of photography and little inspirational quotes. It's the perfect size for a "coffee table" book and the stories are the perfect size for any library. Some stories you may recognize from other works by Lucado, but every one will inspire you to tell the people in your life just how much they matter in yours. We often do not thank those who change our lives, but they are exactly who we do not want to overlook. This book is a great way to thank them! Was this review helpful? Max did a wonderful job on this book. It is very inspirational, from the very first page where he wants you to write to someone about how he/she changed your life. He always makes us think and reflect. How do people impact my life? How do I impact theirs? Am I being the best person I can be or can I make positive changes to not only help others but to help myself along the way too. The stories were short and allows you to read one or two and reflect on them and then you want to go back for more and share the stories with other people around you. He inspires us to be what God wants us to be and he makes it fun and endearing. The stories are about compassion, love, kindness, and just joy. I received this book because I review them for book sneeze. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Max Lucado did it again. In this very beautiful gift book he presents in eight chapters a total of fifty seven very touching stories of love, kindness, commitment, compassion, hope, courage, wisdom and friendship. If you are the hard type, this book is for you, because it will soften you till you melt completely. If you are the soft type, this book is also for you, because it will make you strong on your faith and purposes in life.
All the stories that are part of this book were published before as part of other books from the author. This is a magnificent collection of the most touching ones in a single volume.
The author is giving one hundred percent of his royalties from this book to benefit children and families through World Vision and other ministries of faith-based compassion.
This book was written by Max Lucado in 2010 and published by Thomas Nelson and they were kind enough to send me a copy for reviewing through their Thomas Nelson Book Review Bloggers Program.

You've met them. Your life is probably better because of them.
They're the people who make life nicer, more beautiful...and for some, bearable. They're real people with remarkable hearts. People whose unselfish generosity wraps a strong arm around your shoulders and walks you from brink of despair to the axis of hope.
They give whether anyone notices or not. They sacrifice without being asked. They give up personal dreams for the sake of others.
What would we do without them? Let's hope we never have to. What can we do for them? Let's recognize what they've done and give them a medal of gratefulness. Let's say, "Thank you!" (excerpt back cover).
What a wonderful breath of inspiration as always in a gift book from Max Lucado, called simply, You Changed My Life, Stories of Real People with Remarkable Hearts. This wonderful hardcover book is a gift book of all the wonderful stories we have all come to love and know as we have read through Max Lucado's books.
Here's a classic short story of just what you will find tuck inside this wonderful book:
Chapter 1 - Changed by Love
Confident of Dad's Love
Dropping a fly ball may not be a big deal to most people, but if you are thirteen years old and have aspirations of the big leagues, it is a big deal. Not only was it my second error of the game, it allowed the winning run to score.
I didn't even go back to the dugout. I turned around in the middle of left field and climbed over the fence. I was halfway home when my dad found me. He didn't say a word. Just pulled over to the side of the road, leaned across the seat, and opened the passenger door. We didn't speak. We didn't need to. We both knew the world had come to an end.
When we got home, I went straight to my room, and he went straight to the kitchen. Presently he appeared in front of me with cookies and milk. He took a seat on the bed and we broke bread together. Somewhere in the dunking of the cookies I began to realize that life and my father's love would go on. In the economy of male adolescence, if you love the guy who drops the ball, then you really love him. My skill as a baseball player didn't improve, but my confidence in Dad's love did. Dad never said a word. But he did show up. He did listen up.
I received this amazing book, compliments of Thomas Nelson publishers for my honest review and think this would be a wonderful way to say thank you to a friend or family member. I would even think this would make a wonderful graduation gift to someone who is graduating from school or to someone who has really changed your life!

"You Changed My Life" is Max Lucado's companion piece to "Outlive Your Life". "Outlive your Life" is about the need for Christians to take action by blessing others in their lives. In "You Changed My Life," the author takes the reader into the lives of many people who have done exactly that.
The book's inner flap says it's a gift book intended to be awarded to someone who has made a difference in the life of someone. It consists of several inspiring anecdotes about real people who made a conscious choice to love others in some way. My favorite is "Love Makes a Difference", about Catherine Lawes, wife of a prison warden, who treated prisoners as if they were just as important as she was.
"You Changed my Life", while a companion piece to "Outlive Your Life", would go well alongside other books such as "Crazy Love", by Frances Chan, or "A Million Miles in a Thousand Years", by Donald Miller, in that it doesn't so much preach about spiritual truths as much it personalizes them. Miller says you should make your life into an interesting story, and Lucado tells the stories. Very nice read.

BEAUTIFUL. That is the first word that comes to mind when I think of this book. I enjoyed it from the very first page to the very last. The book contains different stories that come in different categories like Friendship, Kindness, etc. Each story was carefully chosen for this book to show YOU how lives have been changed. The stories in the book are uplifting, and the pictures and quotes are perfectly matched. Visually beautiful and perfect for gifting to someone special to you.
My overall reaction is that I love this book. This is one of those books you'd want to give to someone that means a lot to you or even a book to keep. There was not a story that made me smile and/or make me feel hopeful.
This book was a gift from Thomas Nelson for this review.

I Also Recommend:
This book could be what you have been looking for. This is kind of a "Best Of" collection of stories from Max Lucado's books. There are stories of kindness, love, making a difference, and pure joy. Max Lucado is a pastor and Christian writer, but these stories transcend religion. They are stories of real people showing amazing kindness and love to others.
This collection of stories made me laugh and cry, often at the same time. Max Lucado has an ability to write as if he is talking directly to you, the reader. I would recommend this book as a gift for a special occasion or just because. There is a dedicatory page where you can write to the recipient how they have changed your life. There is also a dedication from the author that says to the reader that the book is for them because it has been given to them by someone who thinks they are special and amazing. I have seen a lot of books on making a difference lately, and it is a message we all need to hear more often. Each of us is special and important, and this book illustrates how that is true. By using real stories, it shows the reader that, like each of these stories, ordinary people can make extraordinary differences in each other's lives.
You could read just a few stories and set it down until another time, but if you are like me, you will not be able to stop until you have read it cover to cover. We can all use a little bit of uplifting, and I found that in this book.

A lot of people changed my life. forever in a good way, and I don't even know how to thank them. Then the genius Max Lucado came along with this beautiful gift book called You Changed My Life.
Beautifully illustrated gift book with loads of memorable and inspiring stories inside of it. The message is clear: to thank those who changed your life without knowing.
There are stories from people who did remarkable things with their lives , it shows with kindness you can do anything, and accomplish every single thing that you thought impossible.
This book is really pretty, I give that as much, and it's perfect for you to give to those people who made a difference in your life, especially if you're not good at verbalizing your thanks.
This book's appearance is rather quant and ordinary. But don't let it's calming presence fool you. This book is almost magical. It changed lives.and the stories in it is very uplifting.
I rate this book 4 stars out of 5, recommended to those who wants to spread positive vibes around them.
I received this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers for an advance reading as part of their Booksneeze bloggers program . I was not required to write a positive review and therefore, the book review is 100% my own opinion.

You Changed My Life is the perfect gift book for someone whose actions have changed your life, for the better. Written in the typical Max Lucado style, this book has a collection of short stories that show the incredible impact that one act of kindness can have on someone else. There are relevant scriptures sprinkled between the individual stories, reinforcing the importance of our relationships with each other. Here is a great quote from the book, in a story titled "Thanks for the Courage": "I'm writing to say thanks. I wish I could thank you personally, but I don't know where you are. I wish I could call you, but I don't know your name. If I knew your appearance, I'd look for you, but your face is fuzzy in my memory. But I'll never forget what you did." The rest of this particular story is about how a young man had courage to venture out of his comfort zone. His actions may have seemed insignificant at the time, but it changed another young man's life about five years later, just because of his memory of that particular day. The front of the book has a special dedication page with a place to write a few personal words, and I would love to give a copy to several people in my life. This little book is an awesome gift to show others just how much they are appreciated. I am a member of the Book Sneeze Book Review Blogger program at http://booksneeze.comWas this review helpful?
