Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Nicole Peterson Davis
Do you like to make choices? Do you often imagine different choices you can make in your life? This is a book full of choices. The detailed drawings will fascinate children for hours at a time. Choices in this book include places you can visit, who to choose to be your family and friends, the type of home you want to live in, what you want to put into your house, how you like to travel, what you like to eat, what you want to wear (including a separate page just for shoes and hats), what kind of pet you want to have, what job to choose, what to do for fun, and what your bed looks like. There are so many choices in this book, and it is great to help children realize that they can make decisions and choices. By looking at the options in the book they can realize that they can choose differently each time. They could visit a volcano with a fairy in a helicopter one time, and outer space with a robot in a rocket another time. The possibilities are endless. Reviewer: Nicole Peterson Davis

PreS-K—This interactive book takes readers on an amazing journey through selection. It asks simple questions such as: "If you could go anywhere, where would you go?" or "Would you travel with wheels or wings? Or perhaps choose one of these other things?" The spread features a fabulous array of vehicles and modes of transportation from which to pick. "What kind of home would you choose?" The dozens and dozens of pictorial options include everything from a spaceship to a castle, a lighthouse and a camper. The cartoon illustrations are whimsical and bright. A boy, a girl, and a cat appear on every spread looking at the array of choices. This highly entertaining book would work best for small groups or one-on-one sharing. Kids will love to return to it again and again.—Kathy Buchsbaum, Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library, New York
