All of this makes the album more interesting to listen to than your average smooth jazz outing, over which Phillips solos pleasantly like soprano saxists George Howard and Kenny G.

    HIP HOP MEETS JAZZ

    The track title, ''You've Reached Mike Phillips'' is a very good introduction to Mike Phillips. His musical phrasing is superb. If you like hip-hop and jazz, this album showcases the best of both worlds.
