Overview

A woman on a mission

Phoebe Graham is a specialist in deep cover espionage, infiltrating the enemy, observing their practices, and when necessary eliminating the threat. Her latest assignment is McKay-Taggart Security Services, staffed with former military and intelligence operatives. They routinely perform clandestine operations all over the world but it isn't until Jesse Murdoch joins the team that her radar starts spinning. Unfortunately so does her head. He's gorgeous and sweet and her instincts tell her to trust him but she's been burned before, so he'll stay where he belongs-squarely in her sights.

A man on the run

Since the moment his Army unit was captured by jihadists, Jesse's life has been a nightmare. Forced to watch as those monsters tortured and killed his friends, something inside him snapped. When he's finally rescued, everyone has the same question-why did he alone survive? Clouded in accusations and haunted by the faces of those he failed, Jesse struggles in civilian life until McKay-Taggart takes him in. Spending time with Phoebe, the shy and beautiful accountant, makes him feel human for the first time in forever. If someone so innocent and sweet could accept him, maybe he could truly be redeemed.

A love they never expected

When Phoebe receives the order to eliminate Jesse, she must choose between the job she's dedicated her life to and the man who's stolen her heart. Choosing Jesse would mean abandoning everything she believes in, and it might mean sharing his fate because a shadowy killer is dedicated to finishing the job started in Iraq.

Meet the Author

NY Times and USA Today bestselling author Lexi Blake lives in North Texas with her husband, three kids, and the laziest rescue dog in the world. She began writing at a young age, concentrating on plays and journalism. It wasn't until she started writing romance and urban fantasy that she found the stories of her heart. She likes to find humor in the strangest places and believes in happy endings no matter how odd the couple, threesome, or foursome may seem.

Her first novel, Their Virgin Captive: Masters of Ménage, Book 1, was a collaboration with New York Times bestselling author Shayla Black. There are five more books available in the series: Their Virgin's Secret, Their Virgin Concubine, Their Virgin Princess, Their Virgin Hostage, and Their Virgin Secretary. There will be a seventh book in the series, Their Virgin Mistress, which will be released on April 14, 2015.

In addition to the Masters of Ménage series, she is the author of the Masters and Mercenaries series. The first eight novels, The Dom Who Loved Me, The Men with the Golden Cuffs, A Dom is Forever, On Her Master's Secret Service, Love and Let Die, Dungeon Royale, A View to a Thrill, and You Only Love Twice are available now, along with the novellas Sanctum, Unconditional, Dungeon Games, and Cherished. The ninth novel, Master No, is coming in August of 2015.

In 2013, Lexi also began releasing her urban fantasy series, Thieves. The first five books, Steal the Light, Steal the Day, Steal the Moon, Steal the Sun, and Steal the Night are available now. Ripper, the first book in Hunter: A Thieves Series was released in January of 2015.

I love this series of books. They are such great reads and I can't put the books down. Jesse and Phoebe were a great couple who both had troubling past. Not to mention I love the reoccuring characters, especially Ian Taggart. He kills me every time. I can't wait for Tenn's book.

You Only Love Twice has everything you've come to expect in the M & M series, humor, suspense, action, family and love. A Dom who is strong, patient, loving and slightly wounded. A sub who is strong, yet wounded and leary of loving again. Together a sweet, passionate love is born.

I have enjoyed all of Lexi Blake's books in this series, but i felt this was one of her best so far. I read it in one sitting because you just did not want to put it down. Drama, suspense and her great humor right from the beginning. Well done! Love the new characters. I sincerely hope she develops stories for them all!

Jesse has grown so much over the series, and he deserved his own book. I am so very happy that this book lived up to and surpassed my hopes for it. Like most of the books in the series, there is tension and intrigue, hot sex, D/s, romance, tenderness, toughness, and - most unexpectedly - HUMOR! I am extremely happy to see that there are more books in the series. Can't wait to get the next one.

I started this series because the first book was offered at a discount or free and I'm so glad I did. I love the men in this series! Like others have said, I didn't buy this book right away because I wasn't interested in Jesse's story. I bought it because I was more interested in Phoebe's story and wanted to find out what brought her to the company. GREAT book! Don't know if I will ever get sick of the Taggart-McKay crowd. Read this series, you will not be disappointed.

This series is amazing and Lexi Blake manages to make characters that are so real yet perfect. I loved this story more then I can say. Each book becomes my fav as I read it and I've reread the series multiple times. Buy this series, buy this book and fall in love with the McKay-Taggert family. You'll wish they were real so you could invade their office....or maybe their sanctuary! A devoted fan, Michelle G

You Only Love Twice has become one of my top 10 favorite reads. Jesse was never a character that I bonded with. When Lexi announced she was writting his story I thought well I am not a huge fan of Jesse but Lexi is an amazing writer so I am sure she will tell his story well. I never expected You Only Love Twice to become one of my top 10 favorites. Jesse is a much more complex character than any of us knew. He was held hostage and tortured for years with the idea that he would be turned into a weapon someday. Jesse turned out to be much smarter than people gave him credit for. He would not be broken and turned into a dog no matter what. He might suffer from PTSD and have horrible nightmares and blackouts but he was never completely broken. The one thing that all lovers of this series really wanted to see was Jesse finding someone to love. Phoebe looks like a she might be the perfect match for Jesse. She is kind and soft spoken and seems to have a calming effect on him when she is around him. He begins to fall for her but all that comes to an end when he finds out she was planted at McKay Taggart Securtiy to observe him and when she is given a kill order all hell breaks loose. This read is very fast paced and there is a lot of information on The Collective. The Collective has been a terrorist organization that has been behind the attacks in several books in this series. A lot of questions are answered in this story as well. You will want to pay close attention to the relationships in this read as I am sure they will play a role in Master No. If you like to get lost and escape when you are reading this series is the one for you. It will keep you on the edge of your seat turning the pages. As soon as you start reading it you will not be able to put it down until the end.

Another heart pounding and inspiring story to add to one of my all time favorite series! This book was amazing! The men of McKay-Taggart Security are incredibly sexy and all around bad ass! Jesse Murdoch in my eyes is a hero. He gave his all for his country until his Army Unit was captured and tortured while in Iraq. He should be broken but his will to live is stronger. He was the lone survivor. After surviving that nightmare he should have come home to love and encouragement but after being rescued he found himself surrounded by accusations. He has put his trust in the wrong people. He is struggling his way through a normal life but when the men of McKay-Taggart take him in he finally has the family and friends he needed all along. After his nightmare of a past, he never expected or hoped to find a women like Phoebe Graham. She makes him feel more than the shame and guilt. She makes him feel alive. We have seen Jesse Murdoch's sweet side around Phoebe but now he has to let go and let his inner Dom do some work because she is not going down easy. For months he has played the sweetheart, afraid he would scare the quiet, shy Phoebe away. As he comes to find out that is not her at all. She is a deep cover agent and he is her assignment. Phoebe Graham has many secrets. She was sent undercover to gather Intel on the ones at McKay-Taggart. She never expected to make friends and actually like them and even consider them family. She was supposed to get close to Jesse Murdoch and uncover his secrets, not fall in love with him. Shocked when she gets the kill order she has to choose between her job or the man she has come to see as innocent. Jesse and Phoebe will have to find a way to let go of their need for revenge if they are gonna have a brighter future. Both of their past will come back to haunt them and an old enemy that will stop at nothing to take back who he believes is his. Lexi Blake has a way of writing that makes you feel you are right there beside them, along for the ride. Feeling every emotion they are and that to me make one awesome read! One of the best in the series! Reviewed by Kristin

I normally like Lexi Blake books this one was kind of so so. Phoebe was a bit whiny and standoffish but read it and decide for yourself.

You Only Love Twice was a fathomable book. Lexi Blake knows how to bring the right amount of drama and humor to a noval. Phoebe and Jesse are a mismatch mad in heaven. I would recommended any one of the books in the Masters and Mercenaries Series. There just that good.
