Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Carolyn Mott Ford
Cam Jansen's camera-like memory comes in handy in this Level 2 story in the "Puffin Easy-to-Read" series. She and her friend, Eric, accompany her dad to the airport to pick up Aunt Molly. When Dad cannot remember where he has parked the car, Cam helps out by closing her eyes, saying "Click," and seeing the picture of the parked car in her mind. They find Aunt Molly in the terminal, but as they gather up her belongings to leave, she realizes her shoes are missing. They are red shoes with big gold buckles and they are her favorite pair. Aunt Molly travels a great deal and is sometimes rather absentminded so they all wonder if she left her shoes on the plane or perhaps in Peru or China. Cam uses her talents of deduction to find Aunt Molly's shoes. This simple story about a good natured family has just a hint of mystery and holds just the right amount of humor and plot for young readers. A little memory game invites kids to test their powers of observation. Reviewer: Carolyn Mott Ford
