Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
Cam—short for camera because of her photographic memory—often solves mysteries and this tale is no exception. Targeted for young readers, Cam and her friends Eric and Danny are going to the Green Fair. The focus is inventions and ideas to help keep our earth green. Ben has a car that is powered by electricity and he urges Cam and her friends to give his car, which he calls Speedy, a try. Next the kids learn about wind power. In the meantime, Ben is a bit distraught because his car Speedy is missing. Danny is sure that the car was stolen and the thief must have made his way out through the back of the gym. There was no toy car in the parking lot. Danny keeps trying to tell jokes but no one wants to listen; finally one of them triggers something in Cam's mind and she is able to solve the mystery. Young readers will enjoy seeing if they too can come to the same conclusion as Cam did. The illustrations are full of kids showing off their science fair projects and Cam and her friends both fooling around and also seriously working to solve the mystery. This book and others in the series should be very popular with beginning readers. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
