You would think that hailing from the Bay Area, that the "hify movement" would somehow rud off on the Oakland born rapper. Unfortunaltley that didn't happen with his debut album. The lyrics are lacking in the substance deparment and the music sounds awfully dated for almost any decade. The only real stand out track is "Look" which sound vintage 80's a' la east coast rap and it supports his style pretty well. There is nothing terribly unique about his style or his lyircs, and his personality doesn't shine through enough. But then again this is his first album and maybe the secound or third time around is the charm. He just better pick it up if he wants compete with top artists like E-40, Mac Dre, Too Short, Keak Da Sneak and sleugh of other top ranking rappers.
