This book by "Andy Andrews" will take you through the most challenging situations in the life of a young high school boy. He is faced with the discussion to end his life or live it.The boy is then taken to meet the people that he has learned about in text books to show him that way to a better, and happier way of life. This book may look like any old book, but it is really a book that teaches you that you must not think as yourself as the helpless one. You are the one that can change your life from the worse possible place on earth to heaven on earth. The book reminds you that you are only as happy as you make up your mind to be. That the people you surround yourself with will influence the way you act and behave. This book does not preach but shows you that throughout history many famous people have had to make tough decisions and live with the consequences of their actions.I think all kids should read this book.

I picked this book up in the classroom I work in to read for something to do on my off time.Little did I know it would turn out to be what I would consider one of the greatest,if not the greatest book of our time.I had my 4th grader read it,and he thought it was great too.I have recommended it to many, many people. In my opinion,no matter what your age,it would be a shame not to read it.

A friend recommended this book to me recently, and even though on the surface it appeared to be written more for a younger person (the protagonist is just a teenager), I have to say that I genuinely found value in this work. The author artfully writes about the experiences of a young man who finds himself in a very challenging personal situation (i.e., a "moment of truth" in his life). Using a very innovative narrative, the author describes the young man's encounters with seven historical figures (e.g., Abraham Lincoln, Anne Frank), each of whom provides him with a critical "decision" necessary for achieving success in life. While I have read similar advice in other personal growth books, it was never delivered in such an entertaining manner. I highly recommend this book as a personal growth resource.
