On the day you were born, you were imprinted with a plan and a purpose—elegant patterns that can be read to see who you really are and what your true calling is. And like your own personal tide table, the ebbs and flows of each phase of your life were set into motion on the day of your birth. Based on ancient Chinese principles of balance and health, this book gives you a rich understanding of your hidden symmetry—the intricate inner design that influences who you are and how your life unfolds. Self Help books from Hayhouse Publishing have been so instrument

Self Help books from Hayhouse Publishing have been so instrumental in my life to help mold me to become a better person. They do not give me a magic wand to wave over my life to fix everything that goes wrong but they do give me valuable tools to use if I choose to use them.

No matter what life situation I find myself I can always reach back and use a tool that I have acquired from one of their books. Each book has either confirmed and re-enforced a past lesson or taught me something new.

Once again they have equipped me with another tool that has already proved so valuable by allowing me, as a book reviewer, to read Your Hidden Symmetry: How Your Birth Date Reveals The Plan For Your Life by Jean Haner.

The book was very interesting and easy to understand. It gives the reader a graph of birth year and birth date range to find the numbers that correlate in their lives to find valuable tools to recognize, potential, and hindrances.

Jean Haner has studied Chinese Medicine teachings of the human spirit for over a number of years and wrote this book to equip the reader with an energizing map to gain knowledge of their life according to her knowledge received from her studies.

I must admit that I was a little skeptical because in the past these types of things seem so broad in the specifics being told that I recognize that the information can easily be transferred over at any certain point in a person's life. In the past I've also felt these so-called life guiding techniques have added to my confusion than dissolved it.

Not so with this book! I had several moments of enlightenment which caused me to see and recognize things in my life that were being used as a block to prevent me from having the confidence to go forward. The author has developed a life map correlated with their birth date and year to devise a graph that the reader may use to find three principal numbers that will guide them to discover their main personality, emotional self, challenges and the reader's true calling. Additional information is given in regards to each person's elemental nature and personal seasons. The book also includes stories of past clients and how this method was used to enhance their lives.

I found that the experience of reading this book dissolved guilt from my past experiences to allow me to know my personality better and why I behave in the way that I do and did. More importantly it gives me the tools to recognize that frailty or strength so I will not repeat past mistakes from a thorough understanding of why I react in that way to safe guard me and make better decisions.

I personally learned that the emotion of fear is what can and has blocked me from pursuing avenues I should take in life. Amazingly enough just this week someone in my life was challenging a decision I made for my life and I recognized they were using the emotion of fear to convince me to change my mind. Because I read this book I recognized that fear was being used to block me and felt more confident to have the confidence to pursue my well thought out choice rather than being intimidated by the fear tactic they were using. What a relief it was to be sure of my decision than the self-doubt and paranoia that would have normally followed.

The content of the book was quite good. I can say that it provided me with a different perspective when it comes to observing and understanding myself as well as my family and friends. I just wanted to let others know that the graph that helps you determine your numbers in the Nook version (I have a Nook Color) is messy and hard to use. There is a formula given for finding the first number without the graph, but you need the graph to figure out the second two numbers. I managed to figure out my numbers (I think), but it was frustrating.
