More About This Book

Overview

We're told that we "create our own reality"—but why are so few people leading the lives they truly want? With her intuitive grasp of spiritual truths and her no-nonsense presentation, Caroline Myss cuts through the myths surrounding manifestation on her wholly original new audio program, Your Power to Create. Taking a direct path to the heart of human creative power—and how each of us can learn to harness it—Caroline Myss enlightens listeners about:

  • What stops us from creating? How to escape the most common traps that keep us from reaching our true potential
  • From Revolution to Revelation, and all the steps between—the cycle of creation that governs cultures, epochs, and our individual lives
  • How the will of the divine makes itself known to us in every moment—if we know how to listen
  • Applying your creative power to your health, your financial well-being, your relationships, and much more. Where did this notion that we have the power to shape our own reality come from? Why has it taken root in the modern psyche? How can we separate wishful daydreams from the authentic work of manifestation? Caroline Myss answers these questions and more with her trademark passion, candor, and extraordinary insight on Your Power to Create.

Horrible, angry, condescending, self-indulgent, and never gets to the point!

I have bought some terrible CDs in the past, but this one is by far the biggest mistake of them all. I really tried to force myself to get through this angry, self-indulgent, insulting piece of garbage, and found myself switching to the radio several times out of frustration, but I kept switching back, telling myself that she will get to the point sooner or later, if not on the first disk, then surely on the second. No such luck. Finally I couldn't take any more, and after about 2 hours tossed it straight into the trash. I couldn't even convince myself to donate this audio torture device to the local Goodwill store.

The entire first disk is filled with sarcastic, insulting condescending tripe about how greedy, spineless and worthless humanity is, as she forces her hateful opinions about the 1960's 70's and 80's down her listeners' throats (maybe the 90's too, but her angry, spite-filled ramblings caused my brain to turn completely off at some point). Worse yet, she NEVER MAKES A POINT! She very briefly hints 2 or 3 times of the "power to create" but never goes beyond oh-so-brief teases. She insults just about everyone who was alive in the past 50 years with a vitriol of a TV evangelist on a meth-induced rampage. Ok, that's a slight exaggration, but it sure felt that way after 45 minutes or so. I actually found myself telling my CD player to shut up and get to the point! I just literally could not take the attitude.

I felt a great sense of relief to FINALLY get through the first disk. I told myself that she was just setting us up and now is going to get serious! The second disk didn't get any better, as she continued to tell me what a complete idiot I am, and then went on bragging about what a great genius and warrior she is (yes, she actually used those words), while proving otherwise with her magnificent ability to belittle and alienate her audience. I started fast-forwarding through this crap, desperately hoping that at some point she'd say something, ANYTHING relating to the subject matter of the CD. Again, no such luck. Feeling dumb for having bought this CD, and dumber yet for having listened to it, it was at this point that I explored it's aerodynamics and threw it into the dumpster outside my apartment. This was the first thing I ever bought of hers and it will definitely be the last. After all, according to her I'm just too stupid, selfish, greedy, mindless, and wimpy to ever understand her brilliant magnificence.

    Essential Myss

Caroline Myss is a treasure. Her contribution to the field of Holistic Medicine is unparalleled as are her gifts as a teacher. In this 2 CD lecture, the always sassy Myss discusses many aspects of our power to create what we want in our lives, while turning new age mythologies into piles of salt. Myss brings together many concepts she's discussed before, but never quite like she does here, making this one of her best CD lectures ever.
