Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - RevaBeth Russell
The great thing about this book is although the level for this book is kindergarten to first grade you will want to read this book to your three-year-old before her first visit. Children are very aware of what they see, hear, smell, and feel. The sooner and more accurately the child is introduced to those strange senses the better. Maybe an older sibling could read this book to the younger child and be able to dispel the fears that many people have about going to the dentist because it is so strange and different. The photos are clear and accurate. You see the dental bib and read that it feels bumpy and the hygienist’s gloves feel smooth. The dental polish will feel gritty. No dumbed-down words are used for the noisy tool that sucks your spit but “saliva ejector” instead. There is a subject specific glossary at the end to support the science presented in the book. Reviewer: RevaBeth Russell; Ages 3 to 8.
