Your Songs really put me in a romantic mood! I'll be honest...this isn't the type of music I typically listen to, but I can't help but appreciate the level of talent it takes to pull off music of this caliber. The album is full of classic, recognizable tunes that are sure to help you relax and unwind. The perfect soundtrack for a date night at home! With so many songs out now with questionable lyrics and messages, it's nice to get back to the way music really should be and Harry does it here brilliantly.

I didn't know what to expect with this CD, but was pleasantly surprised. His vocals are impeccable, and his choice of songs superb. His voice is sultry and sexy. Some of my favorites on this CD were Smile, The Way You Look Tonight, and Mona Lisa. I cannot imagine many people not liking this CD. It's superb.

A look and feel of good music from a louisiana soulful voice. Great Album Harry!

I've been a fan of Harry Connick, Jr since his ongoing stint on "Will and Grace," but I've never listened to much of his music. It always struck me as "mom music" - the kind of music that promotes lots of sentiment and nostalgia. I got this CD from One2One and planned on passing it on to my mom after I had listened to it once, but I think I might just have to keep it for myself! Is it cheesy? Yup. Does it promote sentiment and nostalgia? Of course. But the songs are classic and Connick's voice is amazing. "Besame Mucho" was by far my favorite track - so beautiful. I enjoyed the big band feel of "All the Way" and the interesting take on "Your Song." The only track that I skip over when I listen to the CD is "Can't Help Falling in Love With You." I'm not a fan of the original; the U2 cover is the best, and this doesn't quite compare. While I probably wouldn't have picked this up for myself (though again, maybe for my ma), I like the album overall and plan to listen to it again.

I picked up this cd because I have a wide variety of musical tastes and I thought the track list was interesting. I enjoyed it and I've found it to be relaxing when working.

If you are a Harry fan already, you will be glad to add this to your collection. I don't think I'd recommend it for a first timer, though. He's still got the amazing voice that makes me all melty...and "Some Enchanted Evening" brought me to tears- it was one of my mother's all time favorite songs and hearing it in his voice, knowing how much she enjoyed his music- it just hit home. This CD will be a frequently played one when I want some mellow, chill music to hang out or have playing during dinner...especially when I need to remember my mom. Its like comfort food for my ears.

I first fell in love with Harry Connick, Jr. during the movie When Harry Met Sally. Since then, I have enjoyed his music and appearances on Will and Grace. Dreamy. Well this album is just another great addition to his collection of work. They are songs I grew up with, and can be listened with friends, parents and kids. I love sharing these songs in their new iterations by Harry Connick, Jr. I even prefer his version of Your Song more than Elton John's original! It's a great album.

Listening to Your Songs is like stepping into a time machine. At first I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this remake. However, Harry Connick Jr. does not loose the general essence of the music but rather gives it an upbeat modern feel. Enjoying the cd has been a great way to lift my spirits. I find myself leaving it on for long periods of time as background music. I know that it may not be the most modern music available but who says that something old has to be bad?

Harry Connick Jr has a great and smooth voice and can sing anything and make it sound better. That is what he did with some old favorite songs. I really enjoyed "Just The Way You Are" and "The Way You Look Tonight". Every Harry Connick Jr. fan should own this CD. It is great and can be enjoyed from beginning to end.

Never underestimate the big band sounds from Harry Connick Jr. His new CD "Your Songs" drops today, September 22 and is filled with familiar, favorite songs from when I was growing up but with Harry on the vocals rather than Elvis, The Carpenters... Being that it is a CD full of recognizable songs from my past (They way you look tonight, First time I ever saw your face, Some Enchanted Evening), Harry has some pretty big shoes to fill. First, his voice is very clear and relaxed as always. The music backing him up is outstanding. The songs take on a new life and he gives them his touch without changing them drastically. I don't like it when someone takes a classic song and changes it so much that it doesn't even resemble the great original- not here. This CD is a great toe-tapping, hum-along must for those looking to remember times past!

Harry is spit-shined & polished! It would be some enchanted evening to be out with him! The standouts on the CD are "Some Enchanted Evening", "The Way You Look Tonight" (I'm seeing a lot of Brides and Grooms having their first dance to this one!), "Smile" (Holy Cow what a trumpet lead! I bet they had to turn down his mic.) and "Your Song". "Besame Mucho" is HOT! Wow. "(They Long To Be) Close to You" is a wonderfully fun and clever arrangement. I was not impressed by "And I Love You So" and "And I Love Her". The "First Time Ever I Saw Her Face" should be eradicated from the soundwaves of this earth. Ugh! Not to say Harry didn't do his best spicing it up with a new, leading chord progression, but it is still one of the most irritating songs ever written, in my humble opinion. The most notable difference with this CD in comparison with Harry's earlier works is that the tracks on this album have been worked and perfected. He has obviously been training his voice- his tapering ending to notes is like melting Lindt chocolate. That's a good thing when you are in the leagues with the Michael Buble, but I think that Harry sold out a little by refining his work a little too much. The raw character of his New Orleans upbringing is missing from this album. The closest to this on this album is "Your Song". It grooves, he sounds like he's having fun singing it and I am definitely having fun listening to it. This album is a wonderful choice for an evening cocktail party or a city night out on the town.

If you like Harry, I think you'll love these covers. I'm a fan, plus we are close in age, so I enjoyed his choices. These will make great additions to his tour sets. Plus, fun background music for a dinner party!

Wow! Absolutely beautiful! His voice is amazing and so touching. I love "Can't Help Falling In Love With You." A must have for any Harry Connick Jr. or Jazz fan. The songs have so much soul and feeling. So many wonderful favorites. Thanks HCJ for my new favorite CD! A fantastic collection!

Harry Connick is an excellent talent and performer. Worth buying for yourself and as a gift.

This album makes pleasant enough background music, but is not Connick's best effort. On Your Songs, the artist covers a number of popular tunes, mostly love songs. He's backed by a full orchestra, including talented musicians such as Branford & Wynton Marsalis. Connick has a melodic voice that's easy to listen to, & overall the music is mellow & relaxing. However neither Connick or the other musicians have enough opportunities to shine. Some of the tunes are too polished for my taste, with not that many stand-out moments. I did enjoy his interpretations of First Time Ever I Saw Your Face & Your Song, songs I've long been fond of. Smile & Besame Mucho both have a bright brassy flavour that I found quite cheerful. If you like easy listening music & orchestral arrangements, you might find this record worth a listen. (I received Your Songs as a promotion from the One2One Network.)

This album is a pleasure to listen to. The songs are all classics and are done tastefully. Some even got totally new arrangements to spice them up. It's the kind of album that can put a smile on your face and calm you down no matter what is going on in your day. Although I love Harry's original music, this album delivers YOUR SONGS with class.

I will start off by saying that Harry Connick Jr. is one of my favorite artists. I have seen him in concert a number of times and I own almost all of his cds. This Cd is good but not my favorite. The are songs on it are enjoyable, though the CD doesn't have any real emotion to it. It is like Harry Connick Jr. just wasn't that into it. He doesn't take any of the songs and really make them "his" (like he has with other covers in the past). If you're a Harry Connick Jr. fan I would still recommend this CD but not to expect GREAT things from it.

Harry Connick Jr. defies the odds and allows us to go back home again! Not being an avid fan to "Easy Listening" I decided to go against my nature and sample "Your Song's". It's hard to find the appropriate words to convey the comfort and warmth Connick's songs stirred up within me. Images of my mother swooning to her favorite Sinatra tunes while doing her everyday chores came to mind. Memories like these of an easier time with less stress was more than a bargain. "Your Song's" definitely exceeded all of my expectations. Would I recommend? Yes, definitely!

i had hoped for more upbeat and original versions.

All the songs on Harry Connick Jr's YOUR SONGS are indeed songs from my past. I remember the original recordings of many of these from years ago and he did them justice. Harry's voice lends itself to the old school crooner and brings back all my old school memories. Thank to Harry for sharing them with us again. I didn't realize how much I missed them!

Harry Connick Jr. presents "Your Songs" with great awe. He truly brings these classics into a new light. Grab some candles and wine and just relax. Will bring great satisfaction to the ears of many.

If you are looking for something completely different from this outstanding performer, this is for you. It is unlike anything put out by him before. My favorite track is "Who Can I Turn To?" This cd is something you can unwind to or have on in the background. Check it out!

This is such a fantastic album. The flow from one song to the next seems almost seamless in some spots, and the songs are heaven. I love to listen to this album as I clean, because I can sing along to the parts that I know, and just hum along to the parts that I don't remember. Since a lot of these are older songs, it makes it easier to listen to them in the background while you are getting stuff done. Harry Connick Jr. adds his own personal touch to the old classic crooner songs also, which gives it that extra bit of personality. If you love these old crooner style songs, I highly recommend you give this album a go.
