Overview

"This is a wonderful book for parents to share with their adolescent children. I love the methodology in explaining Your Special Gift!" Marjorie Holmes, bestselling author

Having "the talk" can sometimes be an awkward experience for both parent and child. Even so, I didn't want to wait until my children's hormones kicked in, and I didn't want to be caught off guard when they had questions, but most of all, I didn't want them growing up with misconceptions concerning sex. I wanted my children to be informed about the facts of life, yet without being too sexually explicit in the process, because some of the facts weren't good such as pornography, diseases, and predators, but these subjects needed to be addressed as well.

As a result, I told them what I have written in Your Special Gift, by using the analogy of a gift, a lock, and a key to define commonly used sexual terms, and to caution them about possible consequences, and to warn them of potential predators. I also told them what God says about this Special Gift, and I used Scripture to define true love.

The simplicity of the gift analogy opens the door of communication between parent and child in an effective straightforward, and yet sensitive way, so that any question concerning sex can be answered by using this method.

Your Special Gift is a Christian-based guide that can be read alongside most 7-to-11 year old children, or presented to them as a valuable reference.

Meet the Author

Carol began writing years ago after reading a ten-page story her grandmother wrote about growing up in the early 1900s. It was then that she began to write down her own stories to share with her daughters someday.

Later, she began to write as a way to draw herself and other people closer to the Lord. Carol writes for Christians to encourage them in their faith. She also writes for those who are unaware of God's grace, to show them how to connect to Him in order to experience His love and goodness. Her writing is applicable to life with its direct, yet sensitive, and oftentimes humorous messages and lessons.

As a certified personal trainer and a lifestyle and weight management coach, she is currently working on a remarkable book that will transform the way you think about health and fitness, and provide the tools to make lasting changes.

Carol has been a speaker for Christian Women's Connection (Stonecroft Ministries International) for over fifteen years. She has also appeared on regional and Christian television programs and has been a guest on over fifty Christian and secular radio stations.

    Amazing!

This small e-book is amazing! It defines and addresses areas that you want your kids to be aware of, but don’t always know how to convey the point. It also briefly mentions consequences of exchanging cell phone photos, how to be wary of “lines,” and then ends with a warning about predators. Highly recommended!

    Icetails hollow

This seclude hollow that only the best of climbers can get to is located at the top of a fifty foot pine tree. It is spacious and is reserved specifically for icetail, whitewing, and streakfire.
