You're on My Hit List for Calling Me Creepby I. Muderman, Michael B. Davie
It's no accident that you have picked up this book. It's fate. You were meant to read it. This book is about me and you and the nasty way you treated me, to shatter my self-esteem, to ruin my life. But you were there, laughing with the others. You took part by joining the group. By laughing at me. Most of the others are dead now. I've completed them. I've made them pay with their lives for what they did to me. Now it's your turn. Go ahead. Read through the pages and see if you can figure out a way to save yourself, see if you can remember who I am (I'm sure you will), you see if you can stop me, before I reach you and end your life. My work is nearly done. There are only a few more people to track down and kill. I'm working down my Hit List. I've found you now. I know where you live. I'm watching you read this. You're next.

I found Creep to be one of the most disturbing books I've read in some time. I found a perverse thrill as a reader in becoming one of the book's central characters (a unique literary device I haven't seen anywhere else). But I have to say that Creep made my skin crawl. Well done, but don't read it just before going to bed.
Creep scared the daylights out of me. In this book, the reader becomes part of the story. The reader is on the creep's hit list because the reader laughed at this unnamed individual at an unnamed high school - and who among us isn't guilty of laughing at someone? I did a lot of soul-searching and I felt a lot of tension reading this book. I felt like this creep character really was tracking me down. This is an excellent, frightening book.
