Set in England, this book illustrates why you don't want to switch lives with someone else, not even for just three months. It seems like a dream to live somewhere else, and pretend to be another young woman. However, there is a one night stand, and our heroine finds herself pregnant, of course. How can she go back? A book group might like to explore this.

An interesting premise (two strangers swap homes & activities) for 3 months, but then you need to suspend your disbelief (swap identities, email and jobs), all without telling her husband, boss or friends. Kate was just too naïve to not think twice about her decision. The ending came too abruptly and then introduced another character (Neil). I was intrigued until the end & the story could have used some more realistic ideas.

Boring slow read. A few twists but nothing that great. Crappy ending.

I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The book does start out a little slow, but once it got the basic premise for the plot lined out, it picked up speed from there. The author does a good job building the suspense by dropping little bombs throughout the book that are just enough information to keep you going. I liked the idea, although I will say that I found myself judging Kate a time or two for being more than a little naive. The ending was a little strange. I wonder if there is to be a sequel, or if the reader is just supposed to let their imagination run wild with the unsettling resolution of some of the drama that transpires. I am not sure, but if there is a sequel planned, I would definitely read it. Overall, a pretty good read. Thank you Ms. Bird. I enjoyed it. -- SPeeD

This book starts out slow but builds up mystery as it goes.  So the beginning is slow and the middle is great but then it gets to the end and none of the main character's problems are solved. I don't want to give the plot away but the ending tells you nothing.  It's like the author hit a brick wall and didn't know how to end it,   It ends abruptly and doesn't deal with any of the problems of the characters.  I guess you have to use your imagination.   I hate books that end this way !
